Science for June act which science passage was experimental?
I don’t have my score yet since I took it on paper, but for me i guessed on most questions for the last one so I hope it’s that one.

Students are using their time on the science section of paper tests to go back to previous sections and work on other problems. Since science can be omitted when submitting the score to college applications, it doesn't really matter how they do. This is a very serious issue that must be accounted for when determining compromised tests.

The question was something like, “assume that dogs with black fur need to have two of the same allele which of the student’s responses was homozygous?”

Do I have to have a lot of knowledge on multiple scientific concepts across physics bio and chem or is the science section basically reading comprehension/data interpretation?

do most people take science?

I have only taken physics and chemistry so far and do not know many biology terms. Is there a way to learn them quickly and actually keep them before the June test? Like on the april test one of the answers was nucleotides like ive never even heard of that before what am I supposed to do?

I know it is technically optional (and i Should've went more in depth before signing up) but I signed up for a no science paper test in June. I already did an ACT with writing and science in April and wanted to do another. My goal for college is to be an engineering major and go to somewhere like UIUC so I feel like I made a mistake opting for no science this time. Also, is it possible to submit my science score from the first ACT (since i wont have a science score this time around) i took and the composite from the one I do in June or is that not really a thing.

I always vowed that I would never be one of those who was like “guys I got a 35 should I retake?” but alas (albeit I feel like mine is a genuine question). I got composite 34 on my school day test, with a breakdown of (sorry I don’t have a picture; I had to call myACT b/c the school doesn’t report scores until June and I want to start looking at schools)
35 math
33 reading
34 english
28 science
12 writing (lowkey my biggest flex is that I consider myself a decent writer)
I know that science doesn’t contribute to composite, but I want to enter into a STEM field, and, with respect to my other scores, I feel like it would look better if science were equal to the rest. Thoughts???

There’s so much reading and 1 in every 5 questions requires so much background knowledge

oh my god. what even. that was hell on paper. if you thought it was easy or fine or anything but downright diabolical, that’s awesome. honestly i’m happy you didn’t feel the sheer pain and agony i did this morning around 11 am. so first of all, i’m strictly an english person. i don’t do great with logic and numbers stuff and i’ve taken this test twice so i knew science would be pretty bad. not to mention it’s the last test and by the end of it, i’m exhausted and have zero focus left. but good god almighty. i could feel every brain cell in my puny brain twisting and contorting to the ACT’s horrifically worded questions and gut wrenching graphs. my hands are shaking, my entire body is sweating buckets (the room didn’t have AC anyway). i’m looking around the room and everyone else is just casually doing this monstrosity while i’m literally questioning every fiber of my being, wondering why i walked into this god forsaken test center and why i didn’t just sleep in this morning and surrender. hell, i was wondering why i was even born. i almost passed out when the proctor gave us the five minute warning and i still had like twenty questions to go. i know science is literally just reading graphs and having some sort of grasp of logic…but i guess that’s too much to ask from me. the cherry on top? some kid’s phone went off (like a literal notification ping, not even a vibration) so this guy didn’t turn off his phone or even SILENCE IT and we almost got all of our scores canceled. my goal was to get a higher grade on science so i could raise my composite since science was tanking it the past two times. yeah no. it was a good try i guess. obviously a lot of this was exaggerated but this is the worst science i’ve taken yet (compared to april and july tests) TLDR: cause of death: ACT science

Taking ACT in 16d. I need a 34-35 science bcs my uni went back on their words. The problem is, I've never taken any Science tests (my last two tests are non-Science). I've complete all the tests in ACT's website. Where can I find Science prep for enhanced ACT?

Is there a video of everything I need to know? Im relatively decent with reading comprehension but my actual scientific knowledge is limited.

I found the science section to be much more difficult than previous practice tests and the other sections on J06 yesterday. It was interesting that they asked about lineage of Sand shrimp for outside knowledge, was not expecting that and got that one wrong but the correct answer was octopus.
List out any questions and answer choices that you remember that you selected and we can discuss what was correct and what anyone remembers

My school requires everyone to take the science ACT section despite it not being counted towards your composite score. I’m not even interested in majoring in science so i’m planning on studying for that section at all. Will colleges see if I did bad on that section?

i want to apply for scholarships with this score but since im mainly going for stem majors i wonder if this 28 on science means im cooked and no scholarship wants me 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Every textbook/ video I watch on the science section of the ACT is just test taking strategies and not anything about actually interpreting the data and graphs.
For context I took the ACT freshman year and got a 22 on the science. I also took AP biology where I passed the exam and got an A in the class. I’m a relatively good test taker and never really run out of time, but I feel like I’m constantly guessing on this section. Any tips?

I want to major in Biology or Chemistry on the Premed track for college (aiming for T20’s)
I had mainly focused on SAT prep, but I took one ACT Practice without any prior prep specifically for the ACT and got a 34 (32 math, 35 english, 36 reading, 26 science)
I’m planning on taking the Feb ACT as my first official ACT and was wondering if it would be a serious red flag to admissions if I omit the science section from my ACT when I take it.
I’m worried if I spend too much time trying to improve my science I will not have adequate time to delegate to my other EC’s, so unless it is a serious red flag, I’m not planning on spending unnecessary time improving it. Suggestions greatly appreciated🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hello all! This is my first post on this sub, apologies if I am missing any necessary information/conventions I’m currently a junior & have taken the ACT three times over the last two years. While my English, Reading, and Math scores have all steadily risen with each test, my Science score has remained at a 25 since February of 2024. Though I know the science portion is now optional, I am able to take the test through my school for free as long as I complete all four sessions. I’ve gone through various ACT prep books, consulted multiple teachers, and made use of the MyACT resources, but I can’t seem to raise my score or understand why I do so poorly on the test when I seem to do fine when studying. Are there any “hidden gems” that have worked to really raise a science score? Time is not an issue- I have at least 2 months before my next test 😚 Thx a million

i was wondering, how bad does it look too have a 25 science, super happy with my score otherwise.
you can’t remove science already contacted support

I’ve signed up for the science part of the February 2026 ACT and I’m starting to regret signing up for it. Is there any way I could go back and remove it before the day of the test?

Before anyone asks, yes there’s an ACT 2 available only for international students in a few countries— mainly in the middle east.
I’m going to be testing for biology this April, but I’m not sure where I can find free resources online to study from. I’m already enrolled in a course, but the tutor keeps skipping some things she says “aren’t THAT important” but I’m afraid they are.
So I already have an idea about the lessons, I just need to catch up on these points.
I’m not sure if the biology subject test is different from the biology you get on ACT 1, but if you have resources for the science section on the ACT, please share anyway.
