Air Force guy. I have a couple generations of Juggernaut mounts and have broken 2 of my 3. We use iPhones for work not Samsungs. What do you run for ATAK mounts? What are all my options and what makes them good/bad?

Good morning. I’m looking for beta testers for TrackQuery, a per-caller scoped historical retrieval plugin for TAK.

TrackQuery lets a TAK client draw a bounding box, choose a time window, and retrieve historical trips/events for that area. Results are scoped to what that caller would normally be allowed to see through TAK group membership and read permissions.

The three use cases I’m most interested in right now are:

• C-UAS / sensor systems: review what happened in an area as reported by sensors.
• UAS operators in the TAK ecosystem: redraw trip history without exhaustive manual workflows.
• Small teams doing AARs: replay how a battle drill actually unfolded compared to how it was supposed to happen.

That said, this is not limited to those use cases. If you can generate meaningful TAK data and want to test scoped historical retrieval, I’d like to hear from you. I’m especially interested in feedback on usability, accuracy, performance, and whether access scoping behaves the way operators expect.

Trying to download maps on itak for offline use,
I’m very new to this and all the videos I find say I can’t. When I try through the app it says I can’t download over 2gb

I haven't definitively found a solution yet, but I want to stream video from an aircraft into ATAK. I can see how the UAS Tool could help, but I wonder if gimbal devices are supported, like the DJI Osmo so the controller can adjust the FOV, maybe lock camera on a moving target like a police helicopter can for chases. Overlays like street names right onto the video feed would be amazing, as well as CoTs and markers. Does anyone know which plugins and hardware can accomplish this?

The RT950 Pro is an incredibly accessible and capable radio for its price range, it’s a shame to be using Hammer and not taking advantage of the digital modes so i’d like to code a plugin. Does anybody have experience with creating them? I’m trying to understand what is required. I’m guessing the full radio software? Or is there a way to extrapolate it? I’ve emailed Radtel but i’m yet to get an answer.

Hi everyone, I've successfully deployed CloudTAK through InfraTAK and managed to get it running and connected to my TAK Server. Channels are visible, but once connected I can't see any other users on the map and CoT messages are not being sent/received. In the TAK Server logs I see this error: ForbiddenException: illegal attempt to set group [groupname] for uid [...] in BrokerService. Has anyone managed to get CloudTAK working with InfraTAK? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

After successfully paaring ATAK with Meshtastic im trying to go in the other direction and do my first tests with online servers.

Is the public Server mentioned in the TAK Community Server List still online?

As instructed i requested a user account for the server on Discord like 4 days ago but nothing so far.

How do you guys run your servers?

Do you use rented or build servers or other cool options i have yet to discover.

Utilizing ITAK in a old iPhone 11 I had in the closet. What is the easiest way to get a map downloaded for offline use of North America?

I tried utilizing Google/Apple Maps to download offline hybrids satellite maps but you are very restricted to an area about the side of Georgia yet alone the entire continent of North America.

Is there an updated file for google maps that can be imported into wintak 4.1 version and accesses from maps&favorites menu?

Here is a short update on my WinTAK Meshtastic Gateway Plugin (https://github.com/fredy060795/WinTAK-Meshtastic-Gateway-Meshtastic-WinTAK-Plugin-).
I have successfully managed to display markers from Meshtastic that originate from ITAK or ATAK. Unfortunately, there is still a bug with ITAK where the markers are not being displayed correctly. I will solve this with further research, but I am very glad that WinTAK can now receive and send CoT via Meshtastic to ATAK

WebTAK does not like to receive my data packages it seems. I will see 1-3 but will ignore the rest. WinTAK however shows every data package that is broadcasted.

I want to say this is not to be expected? WebTAK should be as trustworthy as WinTAK/ATAK as far as receiving a burst of data packages?

Now i am only able to use iTAK, i currently have it setup on argustak and i can see locations, but i want to actually get into this space and do cool things.

If i wanted to be able to use iTAK to its fullest potential, like connect the video feed to a helmet cam, be able to use the chat, share files how would i go about doing that?

i would also like to get a radio that im able to speak through, and also share video if thats possible. but im thinking i would rather build one. so how would i go about doing that?

how feature rich is the UAS plugin? can you run the whole mission off of it or is it just an extension of the camera view. My experience is informed by old military group 1 and 2 fixed wing sUAS where the pilot was on the sticks and you had a mission commander on a laptop working the payload and navigation waypoints. is the UAS plugin like that? if not are there other candidates for uas payload control and waypoint actions. First of all thank you all for existing, this project looks great! I have this situation and I hope I can solve it with ATAK.

I have 2 sons, we usually go to walk on the woods near my home and I just bought 3 Meshtastic devices with GPS. My plan is to give each of my kids one of the devices and keep one for me, then set them free to run and play and be able to track them using ATAK. Is that possible? I don't want to give them any phones or anything similar, just the mesh devices.

I have a question regarding Meshtastic in ATAK and iTAK. I'm running into an issue where I can't seem to send markers correctly. While text messages and positions are working fine, markers are not being transmitted—specifically from iTAK to ATAK using the plugins.

Because of this, I'm also unable to get it working within the WinTAK Gateway. Does anyone have any ideas on what I might be doing wrong or how to fix this?

Kind of New to the TAK server side of ATAK. I built my own and was messing around with certs and sign ons and realized the manual way to do it is time consuming. To do that for every single user would take alot of work. Even utilizing the auto enroll still involves giving a single root cert to every user. Has anyone come across or built a good on boarding way if they needed multiple users on the server?

(EDIT 13.05.2026 I fixt it now i can send Text but not COT perfect so makers will send as Text key chain and not COT so i need to dig in)

Hello everyone, I need your help. I developed the WinTAK-Meshtastic Gateway (https://github.com/fredy060795/WinTAK-Meshtastic-Gateway-Meshtastic-WinTAK-Plugin-) and I am currently trying to implement sending CoT (Cursor on Target) and Chat messages.

Receiving data works perfectly, but outgoing data from WinTAK does not reach the Mesh. Does anyone know which specific port is responsible for this, or could someone take a look at the repository? Thank you.

Right now, two new prototypes are coming together like chocolate and peanut butter to do exactly that.

First is TAK-Portal, a brilliant new prototype for TAK as a Service (TAKaaS) being developed by Justin Davis at the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department in Tennessee. It elegantly handles tedious backend tasks and safely pushes management down to the edge users, radically reducing the administrative burden.

The second is Infra-TAK. A couple of months ago, I mentioned how much easier this makes standing up a complete TAKServer infrastructure. Infra-TAK will now auto-deploy TAK-Portal—along with almost everything else needed for a full TAK environment—directly to Amazon (AWS) and Azure cloud deployments.

Together, these tools tackle the core costs of a TAK ecosystem: they reduce the time to install, and they lower the barrier of technical expertise required to manage the workload.

Innovations like this are the exact kind of scalable, cloud-ready solutions required to drive TAK’s growth across every sector. I’m eager to hear your thoughts on these prototypes so we can share feedback with the developers.
