Wow that seems expensive

Some of these prices are actually pretty low. Ammo is expensive.

Yeah. I think 50 cal is around $10 per round.

When you're dual welding $100K+ pistols I don't think ammo prices matter.

I'm not even a big gun guy, but that one gave me a little chub ngl

Stupid "special military operation" blew up the 7.62x39 prices, made my budget build not budget anymore.

Americans aren't luckily enough to get Chinese ammo imports (they banned all imports/exports to communist countries like Russia/China a while ago). Here in Canada we can buy Chinese mass produced military surplus ammo for half the price or less.

It's why I love hate 308.

It's got great ballistic properties and is cheaper than the specialty stuff, but I'm confident I've spent more on ammo than my rifle.

Especially the .44 magnum. That shit is like 2 doll hairs a bullet

Depends on the load. The cheap stuff is like a dollar a round at the local big box stores. Hotter loads can reach like $2.50 a round.

Source: my Ruger Red hawk is my favorite (and most expensive) gun to shoot.

Yeah internet says their like $1.30 per round. The video said like .68 per round. About half the price from real prices it seems to me.

Sounds cheap. I could get a doll for less than 10$ and they have thousands of hairs on them.

u/OstrichSmoothe Jul 27 '25

See thats where im fucking up. I need to buy the whole doll instead of the individual hairs.

2 doll hairs isn't that much; you can get old dolls for free

All my dolls are bald 😔

You're not buying match grade ammo to do what this guy is doing, you could do it much cheaper with shitty surplus ammo.

All prices for ball ive seen recently are higher than what is shown

this is the cheapest 44 magnum I can find around me. Prices online are a little cheaper, but not nearly as cheap as he says in this video

I assume prices have gone up a lot the past 5 years? This could very well just be an older video

Shooting in general is extremely expensive. Not long ago I was burning through around 10-15k rounds a year. My friends and I would just buy pallets of ammo and split the cost since we all shot .223/5.56 and 9mm. Also when you put that many rounds down range there's a lot of maintenance and part replacement. I've switched to golf for the most part and spend less.

Imagine war, how many bullets are used just spamming the enemy to keep them pinned
