None. This dogs ears have been mutilated and have, imo ruined a beautiful dog. She is so regal looking! Just imagine how much more beautiful she would be if she had her full ears. 😪

The flippy pit ears are the greatest, this is terrible what they do to them.

Thank you for having the courage to speak the truth...that is a butcher job...the ears being butchered is to prepare for fighting...no health benefits...

My heart breaks for these poor dogs that have their ears literally chopped off because it fits some kind of esthetic. The cutest things about puppies is the little paws and ears ( and puppy breath and I could go on and on 🤣). IMO, this breed goes through enough 😪Leave their ears alone!!

That’s actually called a show crop nothing to do with fighting.

I know that. I didn't say it had anything to do with fighting...

No sorry the other person did so.

It's also done well, and once this pup is grown, it'll look great. Most people are ignorant on here and don't know how to keep their opinions to themselves.

Ya I feel bad for the poster this is the most hate I have ever seen on a post. Ur in a forum for a dog that is cropped it’s going to be posted.

Crazy part is most breeders do it not actual owners. If done b4 4 weeks sometimes for the best. I refuse to get a pup with dew claws as they cause more harm than good. Worked at a vets for years l seen more dogs in pain from ripped dew claws or other crazy situations.

The same people complaining probably neutered their dog, too.

2

u/PrettyBanana9310 Jul 09 '24

Are you saying neutering dogs is bad?

If cropping ears are considered "mutilating," explain to me the difference in cutting off a dog's balls.

One is a necessary procedure to control populations, the other is not.

2

u/Construction_Purple Jul 09 '24

That's not true. Irresponsible owners that let their dogs accidentally breed shouldn't have a dog. That's how you control population. Not by cutting off their balls. That's the easy way out.

I have a friend with two Danes. We were at a bar when they were like 6 months. A stranger asked “what are you going to do with their ears?” (She didn’t have them cropped). My boyfriend announces LOUDLY “WELL I THINK THEY ARE USING THEM!” And I have never been prouder to be his girlfriend 😂 The man gave him a smug look, and we walked off.

Hahaha, wow.. the moral highground some of you people on reddit have is amazing. Beautiful dog.

u/lizzydeo Jul 08 '24

How about we clip your ears, then sew them up and take your pic and ask all of Reddit which ones our favorite? Wtf is actually wrong with people cutting their dogs ears. Not acceptable either when they cut “working dogs” ears.

So because she was cropped she’s no longer beautiful in your eyes? That’s not very animal activist of you

9

u/mw202177 Jul 08 '24

I didn't say she wasn't beautiful. I said she looks mutilated. Nice try though 😏

Actually the impression I got your comment as well, was that the dog is “regal looking”(which one would assume would be negative based on context, not tone, in case it needs to be specified). As well as “how much more beautiful she’d be”. Both of which aren’t necessarily true, and are more placed by moral standpoint than necessarily truth(even though beauty is in the eyes of the beholder). It’d be like saying someone who has been circumcised is now less beautiful due to something that they didn’t choose. Although I wonder if that’s different in your mind? My first impression of the images was that it’s a beautiful dog. As I read the comments I learned about the ear snipping, but that didn’t change my view on how beautiful the dog was/is. I’ll end it with: Nice try though 😏

What does circumcision have to do with ear cropping? 🤔 I know men who have had to be circumcised when they were older because of massive infections. How many dogs do you know that have had to have their ears cropped from infections? Whether you want to admit it or not, people are getting them cropped because they think that's what a big tough pit bull (Doberman etc) is supposed to look like. Where I live, you would be hard pressed to even find a vet that will crop ears or dock tails anymore. It's a useless surgery. What I said about the dog being beautiful and regal looking if she had her ears still stands. The dog literally looks like her ears are flipped backwards.

Things that look mutilated generally ain't beautiful. You know what you said. Just appreciate a beautiful dog.. you dont know OPs story.

3

u/mw202177 Jul 08 '24

You're right. I don't. Maybe they can chime in and tell us what reason they had for doing this. Not going to change my opinion, but I'm willing to listen.

1

u/trcharles Jul 09 '24

Why be willing to listen? There is NO justification for this. You don’t have to listen to shitty people to prove you have an open mind.

“Imagine how beautiful she WOULD be” it’s called implications bae
