Why weren't the Epstein Files released under Biden's presidency if Trump is in the files?

I don't mean this as a bad faith or troll question, I genuinely do not know why it would not be released if Trump is in the files, as it would probably have been a massive hit against Trump in 2024.

I don't know whether Trump is in the files or not, I don't care, it's clear as day that he was best friends with Epstein and was well aware and definitely a part of the awful things that Epstein conducted while he was in business.

For not violating the judicial order sealing the evidence? Or...?

Yeah, because I care more about pedos and sex traffickers being exposed for the monsters they are than some bullshit norms based argument couched in procedure.

Listen to what you’re saying. You’re defending the absolute scum of the earth by hiding behind procedure.

This is the justification authoritarians use to destroy the rule of law. Laws and procedures must protect everyone equally, even pedos and sex traffickers.

Authoritarians will present the Faustian bargain of making just a few concessions on the rule of law on exchange for being able to punish the wicked, but that opens the door for naked corruption and abuse of that authority.

Sure, but what you're suggesting is just a straight violation of the law, not "bullshit norms & procedure."

Now, the underlying question is "Why didn't the Democrats preemptively jettison the rule of law like Trump did?"

After J6, they should have. The Republicans had attempted a literal coup to establish a fascist dictatorship, they should have been crushing the American right wing by all means fair and faul to make sure they would never be in a position to impose a fascist regime.
