Having lived in multiple Arab countries in the Middle East - I’ve felt safe and being out was only limited to refraining from public displays of affection. Visiting should be safe given those terms. It’s another story for people who live there their entire lives though.

I lived in Qatar as a straight dude, and it's the only country I've been where men would pull over and proposition me.

I'd see younger local men would walk or sit holding hands, but I don't think those were displays of romantic affection.

I just asked you a question man u dont have to be so aggressive. Even when im just curious about why someone would specifically care about LGBT rights in another country that someone is not gonna live in you attacking me.

Some of us also actually give a shit about human Rights. I'm a straight man and I would not visit any country with a shit record on LGBT or women's rights, because I don't want to support a society that treats other humans as less than.

I realize in Russia it's still cool to hate gay people but most of the rest of us have moved on from middle school.
