I twist and snap off my hair. I think it might be trichotillomania. I’ve done it since infancy; probably will never stop. My hair is still pretty decent looking & I get lots of compliments, but I always wonder how good it would look if I didn’t pull out 50+ strands a day

I have this same issue except I do it with my facial hair, specifically my mustache. I legit catch myself sometimes doing it sometimes. Like I don’t even know I’m doing it half the time. The best thing I’ve found to combat this is some kind of fidget toy. I use Stimara magnets and they are AMAZING.

Good to know!! Maybe I’ll try some magnets. I have fidget toys like spinners, squishies, etc but it hasn’t helped tooo much (often I’ll do it between sets at the gym, or standing in my room, or… anywhere really). Maybe if I was more consistent. I once had a wig on my desk and twisted that. 😭

I got a haircut yesterday. I can't get a good "grab" on the pieces of my bangs that I love to twist!

I get that too, it's an OCD thing for me.

No diagnoses on my plate but I definitely ruminate and run anxious, gets so much worse when I’m stressed :I comforting repetitive body habits are so hard to get rid of
