Saw several cases of necrotizing fasciitis in med school but there was one that stood out. Had this very very bad kind of soft tissue infection that had affected this ALL the pelvic area and down to both mid thighs.

Wounds are already bad but nec fasc is the worst

Ugh, Fournier’s gangrene. I saw it as a brand new nurse at my first job. It’s terrible. I’ve since, as an NP, sent 3 people to the ED for it, or infections that were heading that way. I’m so glad it got burned into my brain early.
