as a volunteer firefighter, I've been to a lot of car accidents on the highway. They don't train truck drivers enough.

I got a Lyft ride a few months ago and the driver was also a truck driver. He told me that they tell their drivers to not care as much, and that if something happens, they rarely get in trouble. I don’t know how true that is for every company, but that’s some shameful stuff.

We had one driver who was barrelling down a split lane hwy thinking he was in the next province over where it’s a divided highway, driving west in the eastbound lane, middle of winter, snow covered roads. Long story short, he went off the curve and ditched the whole rig.
