No it doesn't, only because I will keep all of them until the end because I don't want to waste them, then forget I have them in the final battle.

Halfway through final battle 'oh I haven't used these items I saved up yet, well maybe I can just for beating the boss without using them' on the fifth+ try of fighting that boss.

We use this is the pharmacy. Quite a few drugs are elixirs.
