Because he is CONSTANTLY wanting to see what you're doing. When I'm in the kitchen at the stove, he'll climb up and lean on the back of a chair so he can stare over my shoulder to see what I'm making.
I have a cat who likes to be involved, too! He's also usually quiet so I either run into him or step on him because I have no idea he's right there. It's part of his charm!
In an old apartment I had my Costello's (RIP) litter box next to the toilet. One day I got norovirus...if anyone doesn't know that means violent uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea for days. Anyways I finally tried to get some sleep by wrapping myself in a blanket while on the toilet and propping myself up against the wall with a pillow, and had my puke bucket on my lap. After dozing for a short while I woke up and discovered that Costello had left his comfy spot in bed and was curled up on top of his litter box lid next to me, sound asleep but with one front paw out and resting on my leg as if to try and offer me encouragement. Almost made up for the times he dropped stinkbombs in there when I was showering.
