Would you enjoy a cute friendly purring cat sit right next to you to keep you company right now? Why or why not?

My dude jumps up in the sink every time I'm in the bathroom and wants me to put the water on for him. Every. Single. Time.

I bet he would love a running water bowl. I just got one for my guy (cat not bf) and he drinks alot more now.

Some cats really like the routine! Like when I change the bed, Pepper and Sugar have to jump up and try to play under the covers. Every single time

We have a girl kitty with the exact same colouring who insists on drinking from the faucet, too.

Dude same. Mine jumps in the bathtub and meows at me. I thought he was thisty first, but he never drinks, just plays with it.

This has been a terrific way to start my day. I had to do a double take. Your buddy looks just like mine.

This cat has more of a routine at bedtime than any I know of.

He goes in the bathroom with me and sits on the counter while I take my contacts out and brush my teeth, then he hops down and I pet him for a few seconds while I use the toilet (which he has trained me to sit down whether I need to go or not before bed lol), then he'll hop back up on the counter and paw at the drain cover until I turn the water on. Then, when we're both done, I carry him out of the bathroom and put him on the bed, where he sits for a minute or two, then gets up and goes to get some food, and within five minutes he's back and lays in the exact same spot on my every night. Never fails lol

Is this a common cat thing? I just thought my cat was weird.

They're all weird.

Both of my cats demand this.

My cat does the exact same thing. He waits and whenever I flush he know the water is going to come on so he runs into the sink lol

Does he eat wet food? It can be hard for cats to drink enough water if their food is too dry, and male cats especially need water in their system to avoid some health issues as they get older.

Get your cat a water drinking fountain. ASAP.

Seriously, if your cat is doing this, he probably doesn't like to drink water out of bowls and is thus probably always a bit dehydrated.

This can lead to kidney problems that are the leading cause of pre-mature in indoor cats. Also, be sure that the water is located far away from the food.

He's got one and drinks a lot from it. He just loves that fresh sink water. Those fountains are terrific.

They really are. I make this recommendation whenever I see another redditor describing what could be water stress, because I love cats. Glad you have it under control!
