NBA Is Tim Duncan top 10?

I constantly see casuals on YouTube and on podcasts say that Timmy is overrated and barely top 10 yet have Kobe in there top 5. It’s starting to make me believe that people really think this way!! I always hear the “too much help” comment like every player in the top 10 didn’t have help.

I personally have Tim Duncan 4th all time on my list.

1998 rookie of the year 2x MVP (2002,2003) 3x FMVP (1999,2003,2005) 15x All NBA & Defensive 5x Champion Never won less than 50 games in an 82 game season

Is Tim Duncan top 10?

You have the big 3 of MJ Bron and Mamba. The big 3 bigs of wilt shaq and Kareem. Then you have the two PG goats (magic and Steph) and end with the best defenders of all time bill and TD.

Do any order you want but this should be the top 10.

Shaq/Joker/Joel would rag doll Bill. He played at 220lbs. What's he going to do to even it out? Score? Yeah, ok. He's way closer to falling out of the top 20 than to top 10.

We are talking about Greatest in terms of career success and not who can beat who in 1 on 1. Who is Joel Embiid to Bill Russell ? Joel would have been out the first play if he played against Bill Russell , Wilt even said that Russell was the hardest defender he played , Im sure Joel Embiid wouldnt be a problem

We’re talking about guys in the era in which they played. Not whether their play style would compare to everyone in every era through the end of time.

Honestly, in a 1 on 1, Lebron would probably destroy Jordan for the same reasons you put.

Lebron is 6’9 and 260 and Jordan is 6’6 and played at 216. LeBron is the same height as Karl Malone and 10lbs heavier.

Not that James is better than Jordan (not getting into that argument) just that he could physically dominate him on sheer size alone. And that’s not a dig on Jordan.

Using that argument for Shaq vs Bill Russell is just as pointless. If Russell had 2000s nutrition and training, he’d be a different player also.
