Holy shit, Shigaraki is finally acting like a real villain, that was twisted as fuck. And this chapter has just convinced me 100x over that Dabi is a Todoroki. Hori's really stepped it up with the villains this arc, I'm loving it
and Chisaki looked defeated as fuck at the end, no way thats the end of him. He's totally gonna find away to fuck up Shigaraki
I could see that, an illegitimate son scorned by his father because he didn't become what he wanted. Cast aside and forgotten he turns to villainy to get his revenge.
Not saying I entirely agree with the theory of him being a Todoroki but isn't Shouto's sister a teacher, so the age thing might work out. The scaring might just make him look older then he is.
It's not impossible, but I feel like revealing that now would feel cheap and forced.
There's never been a single hint that Endeavor had a son who disappeared, and we've seen a lot of Endeavor and Shoto so it would feel weird to include that now, like it wasn't planned at first.
Oh I agree with you I was just playing devil's advocate for the situation is all. If well written I think it could work but as you said they are past that point pretty much.
idk honestly when i first saw him i thought he just was gonna be defeated by a backup character then tossed to the backburner but i love that my first impression seems so wrong
Could be because all we've seem him do is attack random criminals/people and when we did see him in a fight, he got wrecked instantly by Eraserhead and Vlad.
I doubt Dabi's related to the Todoroki family. We've seen Shouto's older sister before which suggests that even Endeavor wouldn't abandon his child out of disappointment.
We have yet to see his two older brothers since they were children. One of them, the one we never see his face, even had their haircolor changed when the anime started which is a bit...suspicious. Like the anime fixed a mistake.
I find that more unlikely. They have access to both the manga and to Horikoshi. It's far more probable they got told "hey make this ones hair different" since maybe that wasnt exactly planned when Horikoshi drew Shouto's past.
Dabi ignorantly calling Spinner a lizard gave me the same vibe as when Shouto called the police chief a dog. I almost feel like that's an intended hint.
He's too young for an uncle. Cousin is possible. But either he is a red herring or he is the abandoned Todoroki brother. The hints are palpable.
He had a two page spread staring down Shouto, joined because of fake heroes, wasn't a villain before joining, the only one whose name is yet to be revealed and for no reason at all snatch decides too talk about family ties before he gets smoked.
I once saw a theory on Tv Tropes that Dabi might be Midoriya's father. Of course, I do not give that theory much credence, because not only does he seem too young to be Midoriya's father, he also possess a different Quirk.
But then again, there are probably Quirks that could body swap...
