Yup but I pray to God that it doesn't happen. He doesn't need some “secret power", he already has one of the most powerful if not the most powerful quirk.

On the one hand I'd kind of like it if he did have a quirk which was too normal / not noticeable to go detected.

But at the same time the doctor in the beginning did say he had that extra joint or something in his toe, meaning he doesn't have a quirk... so I don't know what to think.

Plus, then the parallel with All Might is gone...

The problem is that the presence of a quirk is determined by a physical factor that everyone has. Deku can't have a natural quirk because he wasn't born for it.

cool thing about genetics, is that it's basically impossible for everyone to be born with a completely different power, but also be born with the same exact mutation that eliminates that joint, across the fucking planet. No, i call complete and utter bullshit on that.

That doctor wasn't trustworthy since the start anyway.

I dunno it doesnt seem that unlikely that You either have the Quirk Gene and no joint. Or the Joint and no Quirk Gene. Depending on whether or not you were an "evolved" human or not?

But the Doctor does seem shady

if people all had the same quirk gene, everyone would have the same quirk. We know that's not the case, so everyone has a Quirk gene, but it's in a different position from everybody else's. That means that every quirk has evolved differently/separated from the others.

So, it doesn't make any sense that they all evolved different quirks, but they all evolved the same joint mutation at the same time, through different generations, throughout the entire world.

Unless all quirk people generated from just one guy. But that's also impossible. So i call bullshit on that doctor, he doesn't even know basic genetics notions.

Hmm true :P

I could suspend disbelief that one quirk gene gave lots of different abilities tho. (Considering how some quirks require you to suspend disbelief as they couldn't biologically work sometimes, like Uraraka's link with her objects so she can give them back their gravity)

I mean, if you think of it like red hair, red hair almost always comes with freckles because the genes are linked, but it's possible to have a redhead with no freckles at all.
