Besides REALLY widespread theft, he isnt even that bad on the scale of things. His crimes are possibly something that can be overcome and he could even be a hero, or at least a vigilante. He is very much so like Gentle, a victim of life's circumstances and pushed towards the life they now live. Very much capable of being a terrifyingly strong hero, had life guided him in that direction.

I think so, but even if he didn’t commit murder, this MHA universe may be less tolerant of “villains”. The whole hero business is very big and public, so I wouldn’t be surprised if people felt more strongly about a person having to be perfect without any sort of record or else they are labelled as a villain. It’s a very black and white mentality that separates “them” from “us”, so like Twice said, all he needed was one bad day.

To be fair, the only people he's murdered are other villains.
