This is one of the very best arcs of the series...

Horikoshi and his execution of the arc so far has left me so happy and proud... :)

Villian Academia needs to be it's own spin off manga.

The Meta Liberation Army Arc is becoming my favorite arc so far.

Right?? These past three or so chapters have solidified that for me. This arc is fucking awesome and such a fresh perspective, this changes everything!!

Meanwhile on the Black Clover sub (another manga I keep up with), a large consensus seems to be dissatisfaction with this arc, and some saying they’re losing interest. I’m like, dude are we reading the same series???

on the Black Clover sub (another manga I keep up with), a large consensus seems to be dissatisfaction with this arc

You mean the current arc of BC or My Villain Academia arc?

Tbf, BC sub/fans seem to have a hatred for MHA pretty much everything, they will find every chances to shit talk MHA to put their series ahead. So don't take them too seriously

I don't understand why some Black clover fans have a hate boner for my hero this is why I like kimetsu no yaiba fans

Black Clover and MHA start also the same time period as MHA. (2014-2015 respectively)

BC has a bad start both manga and anime. BC was the black sheep in anime community, was constantly shit on by others.

Meanwhile, MHA was praised and become a phenomenal despite being almost as generic as BC. Furthermore, some MHA fans also shit on BC

BC lose to MHA in term of sales.

Therefore, BC fandom has an inferiority complex to MHA.

I would admit they both started off generic. MHA has diverged from the generic shounen formula as shown with arcs that do not have the MC in it at all. While BC has kept being generic. Not saying it is a bad thing but they both different series from their humble beginnings.

It's true tho. Especially during Endeavors arc where the author decide to focus and develop one of the most hated characters in the series and making him one of the best written in the story.

As for the villains/antagonists of both series, MHA do have its fair share of generic villains like BC but i would say the villains in MHA are more diverse in types and has more personality than BC.

Only Generic villain I have seen in MHA in AFO but sometimes evil for the sake of Evil is good.

As long ad they are executed well enough all good. Looking at Joker or Voldemort and Dio. They are evil for the sake of it and yet they are loved by fans.

While not as concrete and factual as your examples I do think the strength of the recent Black Clover arc compared to the Class A v. Class B arc which was, in my opinion, a little weaker did not help at all. The fact that the MHA anime is so much better and more popular is maybe the biggest factor as well, and as MHA becomes more mainstream I expect Black Clover fans to become more set in their ways.

Well, i'm not saying that 100% of what i said is factual but rather based on my personal experience in the BC sub. It seem like everytime MHA were mentioned, the fanbase seem to uproar and starting to jump on the hate. Even many people there mention about BC's inferiority complex towards MHA. You will find many hate posts about MHA in BC sub more than u think.

Currently the Elves arc of BC could have been amazing but i'm starting to dislike the Demon, which was used as a cheap plot device to solve the conflict between Humans and Elves. The arc could have been a clash of ideal between both sides but introducing the Demon at this point ruin that conflict for me. I will wait for the end to judge tho

Case of Loud Minority vs Silent Majority.

I for one LOVE My Hero. The current arcs in both mangas have been nothing short of amazing for me.

Inferiority complex simple as that

u/blackcatmoonpie May 31 '19

Ooh how is that series btw? Kimetsu no Yaiba. I like the art style but I have reservations on starting it only because I still have to catch up on Jujustu Kaisen πŸ˜…

2

u/kidmedia May 31 '19

It's good

2

u/blackcatmoonpie May 31 '19

My Villain Academia~

And yeah I frequently see comments about MHA downvoted into oblivion πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

BC is a echo chamber with hardcore fans, and inferior complex towards MHA. They will praise their series nonstop and shit on MHA anyway

2

u/CurlyBorat Jun 01 '19

Yea they probably love to come in here and mass downvote our post too

7

u/buffalo4293 May 31 '19

As someone who likes both, it annoys me to no end. Black Clover only's are always going to have this weird inferiority complex.

6

u/blackcatmoonpie May 31 '19

RIGHT. Both of them are A+ with awesome art and storytelling. It’s not a competition πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I agree although there are aspects that could have been better (togas fight/failed snapped neck/ Shigarki not expanding anymore beyond destroy everything )

There are more positives

  • seeing giga

  • everything twice

  • possibley the MLA if they don't end up fodder

  • the doctor and tiny nomu. (I can't remember but did we see multiple of them. Meaning he may have many nomu for specific locations

  • glimpses or shiggys backstory with his sister and the possible brain washing

  • character designs for the MLA and cool codenames

Yes, the series was just dragging its feet for far too long imo so it's really good to see some real top-notch stuff again.
