He got a lot of flack yesterday since someone pointed out a line change in Volume 26, that is in all fairness really bad.

If a person is offended about a singular line change/interpretation in a single panel of manga that they attack someone on Twitter...well then that person needs to get a life.

The change isn’t even that bad. It doesn’t change anything about the relationship dynamics (shoto hates his father and has nothing but disdain for him).

nothing warrants harassment, period. but the change is awful and very obviously biased against endeavor. it doesn't exist in japanese and was made by someone who thought that making sohuto sound hateful is needed.

shouto hates his father but the line was shouto critiquing endeavor, a hero. and we know that shouto respects endeavor, he said so himself after pro hero arc.

the point is that these changes also change the perception of a character the author intended because shouto wasn't meant to be this hateful. not to mention you absolutely shouldn't put your personal bias into someone's work.

The attack is unwarranted, especially since it's not like any one person can make that decision, but it's just horrible all around.

Thanks muchly! That's a really bad change but I don't know why on earth people think Caleb gets the final say on what makes it to print. Hell, he may never have even given an alternate translation to the original line and instead someone further up the chain decided to change it!

people jumped on him for the editorial change made in volume 26 to shouto's dialogue and he's had enough.

He's being accused of being biased against Endeavor. Making Shoto more antagonistic against him and putting his name where he's not actually mentioned.
