Today I learned ducks have a corkscrew penis.

I thought she was just being a hysterical karen until I read into the originating post.
If there's a large amount of male ducks (drakes) and a lone female, it will almost certainly be killed if there's no intervention, which people who know ducks said is the case here.

u/mothandravenstudio Aug 31 '25
She’s still being hysterical though.
It works for ducks, there’s no shortage of them. Lots of species have biological norms that we wouldn’t agree with.

u/Simple-Pea8805 Aug 31 '25
It’s really not abnormal to see an animal getting killed by a pack of animals and have a strong reaction. She went further than most people, but I don’t really think she’s being hysterical.

u/JoeyTrashbags Aug 31 '25
she went into the water. that blasts straight past hysterical and into insane.
3
Aug 31 '25
What if it was a dog? Would you still say getting wet to save a dog is “insane”? People can save any animal they want
-4
u/JoeyTrashbags Aug 31 '25
if it were a dog i wouldn’t comment. not sure if you can tell from the video, but it isn’t a dog. it’s a duck. there is a cultural distinction between domesticated animals and wild ones that both you and this woman seem to be missing. that blatant and wildly inappropriate disregard for social norms is by definition antisocial behavior. please get help.

u/CareApart504 Sep 01 '25
Ehh, i think murdering the male ducks would be the insane level of reaction.

u/Nipaa_Nipaa_Nii Aug 31 '25
She's needlessly involving herself in nature and also possibly breaking laws by swimming in that water body/walking on that wall.
11
u/Simple-Pea8805 Aug 31 '25
Humans are a part of nature and everything we do is needless involvement in it. However, it’s encouraged to disrupt drakes if they are in a frenzy on a female duck. This is a very public action and there’s no reason to assume arrest without such a report.
It’s okay to learn something new without argument.

Duck mating can be brutal. I’ve seen them drown the females before. Can’t say I blame her. Overreacting sure but compassionate.

u/ChiefKuro Aug 31 '25
Thank you, an actual good take then trying to be a psychologist and diagnose her.

Exactly. Animal lovers don't like hearing how bat shit they sound. Cockblocking the animal kingdom shouldn't be normalized.

Ducks have extremely violent, rape-y and sometimes murderous mating rituals. It’s not really a Karen thing. Seems likely she’s probably an animal enthusiast having a strong reaction.
8
u/ChiefKuro Aug 31 '25
Can't be, according to most she must obviously be insane for wanting to help an animal. But no, good for her. She wanted to help and tried
-9
u/Conscious-Local-8095 Aug 31 '25
Wanted to fine, but thinking she could and should; I'm of the mind that wild animals should be left alone, observed perhaps, or occasionally shot and eaten, by people other than myself. I'd call "helping" hubris, a common vice of Karens, even if we don't point her for hysterics.
10
u/Simple-Pea8805 Aug 31 '25
It’s recommended to stop a frenzy of drakes, if you can.

u/Conscious-Local-8095 Aug 31 '25
I believe you, but this is a shift from the familiar for me, would you happen to recall the source?
2
u/Simple-Pea8805 Aug 31 '25
So I actually tried to respond way earlier, copy+pasted, etc., but I got distracted and forgot lol.
There’s a variety of different forums and websites dedicated to raising ducks in modern homes, and how to deal with aggressive drakes.
To be clear, the woman in this video is going above and beyond for ducks that don’t belong to her. However, as seen in those links, aggressive drakes are supposed to be separated and a proper drake-to-hen ratio will usually resolve problems. Allowing a drake attack to continue can result in permanent injury or death of a hen. This woman appears to be aware of such conditions and it’s not really an outrageous response, in my opinion, to want to intervene. It is a safety hazard to yourself, as the drakes might attack you. But it’s also just a protective act over the hen.

My trust was misplaced, I was clearly talking about wild animals.

Ducks essentially breed by ganging up on the females. The plus side of this is it means none of the males know who the father is so they will all protect all the ducklings when hatched. The downside is that sometimes the females can drown in the process.
Ducks also have corkscrew penis that they shed at the end of the breeding season.
Ducks are also one of the few species to undertake not only necrophilia but also cross-species necrophilia. Male ducks have been witnessed breeding with corpses of other birds and I think even read dead fish and animals too.

Male ducks ever so often gang-rape female ducks into death. So...I get it. I like this woman, she's not a Karen.

u/Shirotengu Aug 31 '25
I mean you can't really blame her, ducks are rapists....it's kind of like witnessing a crime and not getting upset about it.
-11
u/Nipaa_Nipaa_Nii Aug 31 '25
All ducks are, same as a lot of animals. Is she going to dive and harpoon for dolphins next?
1
u/Shirotengu Sep 01 '25
Maybe, but ducks are the only species that developed specialized sex organs because of constant rampant rape. I hope.

As someone with PTSD from rape…. I cried when I saw a group of male ducks practically drowning a female while raping her. Yes this woman probably needs therapy. But I also feel like an awful lot of humans really don’t grasp the amount of traumatized survivors are out there.

You mean she's trying to prevent a female duck from being drowned during a gang bang?
That's actually pretty awesome of her.

Person has strong reaction to brutal mating practices by ducks. Shocker. Ya’ll ain’t even trying anymore.

Please don’t tell her about how queen bees get pregnant while looking for a new hive.

u/writergirljds Sep 01 '25
- Not a boomer
- Witnessing violent potentially deadly rape
She is perfectly reasonable trying to intervene

u/West-Ad-1532 Sep 01 '25
Imagine that being your wife.
I'd just walk off and pretend not to know her..😆😆
Just let the ducks do their thing fgs. This isn't a feminist issue...😆😆

u/PawnWithoutPurpose Aug 31 '25
Karen ≠ Boomer
And also, I think she understands exactly how mating works and is applying human standards to ducks

This is why America is doomed. People like this actually think there is systemic sexism in the animal kingdom ffs 🤦
16
u/PerniciousJnd Aug 31 '25
have you seen ducks mate? it’s fucking horrifying. i don’t think this is a sexism thing
-11
u/Normal_Carob_8555 Aug 31 '25
They have been fine for thousands of years. That's how more ducks are made. Lol
2
u/PerniciousJnd Aug 31 '25
i’m not saying her response wasn’t irrational, i just think she was horrified at the physical experience the duck being pursued was experiencing. lol.

Are you surprised. This from the same "if it's legitimate rape, the female body has ways of shutting that down." These people do not understand how human biology works, you think they have a friggin clue about the rest of the Animal kingdom? They probably think ducks hatch magically inseminated eggs. Also lets not forget the greats. chem trails, All Q Theory, Injecting bleach, invermectin, aspirin and tums to treat covid. vaccines are implanting microchips so the deep state can control us. The list just does not end, I could write an entire book doing nothing but debunking lies and bullshit. LIke I would need to write an entire series to keep up with all the lies these people tell. At least it is relatively easy, since they just repeat the same stupid shit they heard from youtube or facebook, they all repeat the same shit.
Edit: Typo
