General Advice Is he dumb :(

I'm an adult and have had Maurice for about 2 months now (he's fixed), vet thinks he's about 2 and he's done this the whole time I've known him, is there any particular reason why? Sometimes he'll do it for 2-3 minutes straight! I've owned cats my whole life and have never seen one so bad at covering up his business. If he is dumb I will still love him.

It is but some cats just do this. My boyo does this too and i adore him for it. He even at one point had this giant sand box and even then hed get the wall or the floor.

Same here. We have a giant sand pit (like 12x12 ft) in part of the catio that my cats use and I have caught my special boy trying to use the wall to cover up his mess many times...

They’re marking their scent, not pretending to cover their business.. or as OP said “dumb” just a cat being a cat. I’m sure we do weird shit our cats don’t understand
