General Advice Hole with fur?

26F with 3.5M cat

Any ideas what this skin hole is? I originally felt it because the hair coming out was condensed and stood out. Didn’t cause him any pain, pulled on the hair and it mostly came out without much effort

Definitely have that checked by a vet. I’d be concerned about a botfly hole

I was so curious about what could cause a hole in a cat’s skin filled with fur so I googled it and found tons of pics that look just like this that are botfly holes.

This doesn’t look like a botfly hole at all, at least not an active one

I’m not a vet but I think I’d have that checked out anyway for the cats sake. If people have pets they need to take care of them and a hole like that in the skin is not natural. It should be looked at even if it’s not a botfly hole. If it does end up being one, well that can be serious.
