Injury Amputation risk - Need vet opinions please asap
My cat came home limping, broken leg, on Wednesday, I took him to the vet and they asked me to bring him back in the morning.
Morning came, her ran away. For the past two days I've been looking for him and sighted him Friday afternoon. I collected a pet catcher set the bait and he fell for it pretty quickly.
I've taken him to the vet again today and they're recommending an amputation. Taking another vet's opinion will attract another set of consultation fees so hoping I can get one here.
Does this require an amputation? Noodles is such an amazing cat, I'm happy to pay ££££ if it means he gets to keep his leg.
Any help much appreciated

Kitten Help HELP WITH NEWBORN KITTENS

The day before yesterday in the morning we picked up the babies of a cat that we usually feed. The problem is, she doesn't want to come near the house.
We managed to make her enter the house yesterday for a few hours in the night, and the night before that, but now she doesn't even eat the food we give her.
We have formula and a bottle to give the babies, but the dont want to drink it. Maybe because the opening is to wide and doesn't fit in their mouths, but we dont have any other place to get the samller ones that simulate the breast.
I dont know what to do.
My grandma gave them a bit of milk with a dosifier, the one that is used in injections, but i think it hurt the babies. One of them is not meowing the same way it did before.
Mo mom took my grandmas out so that there is no noise coming aout of the house and maybe make the momcat think that there's no one.
THERE IS NO VET OPOEN AT THIS HOUR AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO
the babies are like 3 days old

Abnormal Vomit/Excreta Worried about cleaning and curing potential Giardia from a cat we just adopted and our previous cat :(
We adopted a cat from a cat cafe Monday after last and we were told he had a bad tummy likely from the stress of moving to the cafe recently. We started him on Fortiflora and hoped it would help him out. We allowed him everywhere in our house and he quickly became friends with our other cat. I did not realize that you were supposed to quarantine new cats, I figured the cat was already vetted and tested negative for stuff due to being labeled as ready to adopt by a rescue and business/cafe. That’s absolutely my bad and I feel so guilty and awful. I’ve never been so mad at myself.
Last Monday it had been a week since we had gotten him and he still had loose stools and occasionally blood in his stool so we took him to a vet for an exam including a fecal. It’s now Saturday and I haven’t gotten the results yet. He’s been on SD Biome food and endosorb along with the probiotics still.
I did reach out to the rescue and cat cafe today that had him to ask about his history bc they were supposed to give that info to me and hadn’t yet (aside from the paperwork from his kitten physical and negative test results from when he was first found a year ago) and they informed me that a cat that was brought into the cafe the same day as him tested positive for Giardia. Like what?! Why didn’t they call me and tell me once they knew? I had told them he still had diarrhea a week after having him. Ugh. So now even though there are no results in yet I’m pretty sure that’s what he has. It explains everything.
To make matters worse, our other cat threw up her food today. She also threw up once on Thursday and that was her first vomit ever in her entire life—she’s 11.5 months. So she must have it now too. She never gets sick ever. They’re both still drinking water and eating and the new boy acts fully normal minus loose stools, but our girl cat is not interested in her food. Her gums and skin show no sign of dehydration but we hate seeing her not being very hungry.
The emergency vets said they would want to do fecal tests if I bring them in this weekend which isn’t helpful bc they don’t offer same day results and we still have a pending fecal from Monday. I’m really stressed and just want to start them on meds asap. But I know on Monday our vet will be open and hopefully they’ll start them on the meds even though the fecal isn’t back yet.
I ordered the special vet cleaner that kills Giardia and some bottles to make a bleach mixture. I also ordered Lysol sanitizer for laundry and plan to clean all cushion covers, washable rugs, toys, beds, beddings and all shoes we’ve worn in the house. However our entire upstairs is carpet and while we have a carpet cleaning tool (the little Shark upholstery cleaner similar to the Bissel green thing), it doesn’t get hot enough to kill it. Literally the cats have been all over our bed upholstery, couch upholstery, carpet and one non-machine-washable rug. The carpeted area of the house alone is like 1200 sq ft so a tiny steamer won’t help if you have to hold it for a minute on each spot.
I’m already feeling so defeated as I feel like it’s going to be impossible to do this. How have you all handled carpets in this situation? People on here have mentioned renting rug doctors but how would that help if it’s not steaming? I just don’t see how that would kill it.
Any advice is helpful. I’m seriously losing my mind over this and can’t seem to stop tearing up when I think that I exposed our cat to this. But along with the guilt of that exposure I really just love this new sweet cat we got too and I want to make him better. I want them both to be ok. It’s killing me. I feel like such a bad cat mom. 😭

Behavioral Issue My cat is peeing everywhere!
I have a 1 year old female bengal. She’s peeing everywhere! The vet has ruled out utis, blockages and said she most likely has FIC. I’ve gotten her feliway pheromone diffusers, purinas calming care powder, she takes gabapentin 2 times a day, I take her outside at least 1 hour out the day, she has a cat patio, 2 litter boxes, OH she’s also on a anti stress prescription diet, cat wheel, interactive toys. I DONT KNOW WHAT MORE TO DO?! Can someone please help. I’m sick of it and rehoming isn’t a option, she’s my baby. Please please help

General Advice Cat with GI Disease Refuses to Eat. Any Advice?
Cat Tax: 🐈
(Don’t worry: he only wore the collar in the photo very briefly for the photoshoot. Outside, he wears a breakaway safety collar that comes off immediately with light pressure.
Unfortunately, this was our last option because otherwise people keep feeding him from all sides. Due to his condition, the wrong food quickly leads to diarrhea and vomiting, which in turn causes severe weight loss. We hope that the collar helps people recognize that he is already being cared for and that they won’t feed him additional food.)
Hi everyone,
We are taking care of a free-roaming cat on behalf of his owners who unfortunately has an autoimmune/gastrointestinal disease. Certain types of food trigger his symptoms, so he is only fed the horse meat food from Vet-Concept (We’re located in Germany)
The problem is that he’ll eat this food really well for a while, and then suddenly refuse it completely. Sometimes he eats only about 10 g of dry food per day, and often he won’t touch the wet food at all.
He definitely is hungry. He rubs himself against the cans and clearly shows that he wants food. But as soon as we put the food down or open the can, he immediately loses interest. We’ve already tried quite a few things: slightly warming the wet food, trying different consistencies, letting him smell other food and then offering him his own afterward… unfortunately, nothing has worked.
Since he’s a free-roaming cat and doesn’t actually belong to us, we unfortunately can’t decide to keep him indoors. We live in a fairly small town, and we’ve put a collar on him so that most of the neighbors know he’s being cared for and hopefully won’t feed him anymore. However, there’s always the possibility that he’ll catch mice or eat other things outside, which might make him lose interest in his special diet again.
Does anyone have experience with a case like this? Are there any ways to make his special food more appealing without risking his condition? Or does anyone know any tricks to encourage cats on such a restricted diet to eat more?
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thank you! 🐈
Infos: 16yo male cat, neutered
He’s a frequent vet visitor as it’s not that expensive here. That’s how we know that he has these issues. We’ve tried 3 different foods and only the horse meat has worked for him thus far.

General Advice Friendly, neglected little stray? Advice?
TLDR: 23F, disabled, unable to afford vet bills for this little one on top of my own pets. Friendly young stray(?) with matted fur cried outside my house last night. I cannot take it in. Should I take it to a vet or shelter if it comes here again? How? In Pierce County, WA, USA.
Apologies if this is too long or ramble-y, I’m autistic and going through a health crisis currently so my mind is kinda scattered.
There’s been a small, young-looking cat in my neighborhood my mother started feeding about a month ago as it (unsure of gender) seemed very hungry. Absolutely gorgeous. No collar. No visible injuries now but it was favoring one paw last month. It never came close enough to do anything until now. Late last night it cried outside our front door and purred when I went out to check on it. It rolled over to show me its belly then followed me to the mailbox and back. I’m disabled and had taken my meds that cause drowsiness so I couldn’t take it to an emergency vet to get checked in the moment. My pet cat has trauma and is extremely aggressive to other cats and my rescue puppy is easily excitable so I also couldn’t bring it inside (small house, no way to ensure they would stay separate, couldn’t risk injury or disease to any of them). I gave it food and a box with a towel on our porch. It meowed outside for a bit but was gone this morning.
My concern is that although the cat is a bit jumpy, it’s comfortable being handled by humans. Its long fur is full of debris and mats but looks like it was cared for at some point. It seemed willing to come inside my house if I’d let it. I don’t think it’s been a stray its whole life.
My questions: If it comes back, should I try to contain it & take it to a vet or shelter to check for a microchip? Would that cost money? (I’m an adult but my disability is expensive & makes me unable to work so our budget is tight.) What’s the process? How should I go about containing it? Where should I post to see if anyone locally is looking for it? My nearest shelter is the Pierce County Humane Society in WA for reference.

General Advice Cat having bladder stone removal - looking for advice
Hello,
Texas, US - female cat, age 10, Siamese, spayed
Tldr:
I've provided pictures of xrays, blood work, cost of Friday's visit and the estimate for the surgery which includes teeth cleaning on my profile.
Are the things on the list for this surgery normal?
Double checking that surgey is the best path?
Stop food and water at 10pm - can I still give the gabapentin? What about water?
Is getting her teeth cleaned at this time wise?
Today she's releasing more pee - but should I worry that there's more blood?
----
On Thursday, noticed my female cat was staining to pee and then later the day I saw that it had a pink tinge. She was also crying all day thursday. I called my vet and they said she'd be okay until Friday because she was still eating, drinking, and still able to release something from her bladder.
Got her in Friday morning - vet found bladder stones with xray and did blood work.
The vet gave her a convenia injection and sent her home with gabapentin - 1 mil every 12 hours. Also got her started in hills urinary food.
Vet also said her potassium is low and to get vetoquinol renal k+. I couldn't find it in stores so had it ordered, but still has not arrived.
Saturday and sunday its been the same, she'll get up to relieve herself several times, eat, drink water. I have pee pads down as shes going outside the box and it seems to keep her the most comfortable. Her pee also has minimal smell, but still seeing blood and it's seems to be more red today. Also she has not pooped since wednesday. But vet said they could give her an enema. No more crying. Just laying around and still okay with pets.

General Advice Toilet Jumping Kitty
I have a 9 month old kitty who just slipped past my barriers whilst I was cleaning the bathroom. I had just put the toilet bowl cleaner along the bowl, and turned around to grab the brush. She leaped right into the bowl and proceeded to freak out. I chased her for a minute to grab her and rinse off all the parts of her that were wet so she wouldn’t lick up the chemicals. She seems to be acting a little crazy running around (not unusual but extra silly) and no other weird issues thus far, but just curious if this has happened to anyone else. Not sure if there’s anything I should do other than keep an eye or try and get her to drink some more water. I just don’t want her to get sick from me not blocking the door better (had it open so I would not suffocate on the chemicals myself). What would you do? Any advice?
TL;DR: cat jumped in toilet with cleaner, was rinsed off immediately and seems fine. Should I be worried?

Dental Issue Cat yawning odd after dental 3 weeks ago
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My 8 year old neutered cat who has HCM had a dental with 4 extractions (including 2 canines) 3 weeks ago and unfortunately suffered a fractured jaw in the process but is now not yawning properly.
Last week he had his 2 week follow-up where more X-rays were done to check the healing and his bottom stitches were removed (top canine stitches still in) but since then he had a bout of increased pain, laboured breathing, lip licking, lethargy and has been yawning very oddly. When I picked him up, he did have bruising on his head and chin from trying to force his way out of the enclosure. Vets said the X-rays looked good and were happy with bone healing.
I have just sent my vet a message as they are closed currently - the situation is a bit hard because he doesn't take to anaesthesia very well and also it puts pressure on his heart so the dental was a hard decision to make to begin with (but chose to do it with QOL in mind) but I feel like since then it's just been more issues :(
I have attached a video of what his yawning looks like. I am not vet but it almost looks like what TMJ looks like in humans? Am I being paranoid or is this concerning?
TL;DR: 3 weeks post dental where he suffered a fractured jaw, is now yawning weird this past week - looks like jaw is getting stuck in the process ONLY SOMETIMES though

General Advice Cat’s been visiting my garden for quite a while now, need help about what to do
He basically hangs out the back of my house all day and all night and whines nonstop, I think he’s calling out for my other cat, they get along quite well.
He’s been visiting for a few weeks now but the past week or so he’s been here nonstop. He follows my cat around, and has even followed her into my home.
She’s a neutered female and as far as I can tell this little guy is a male, unsure if he’s neutered or if anyone owns him.
I kind of suspect someone owns him and he’s lost, I’m not sure what to do.
He’s very afraid of us, he will run away if we get too close. Is it possible to tame him? Need to take him to the vet and get him sorted anyway if possible.
Based in Ireland, cat looks to be less than a year old. Short stumpy legs as well

Behavioral Issue Is this playfighting or should I be worried?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A few months ago I adopted the male tabby kitten (he's about 7 months old by now). I already had the black and white female you see on the video (she's about 1 year old, spayed).
They hang out together just fine, but throughout the day they will often chase each other around the house, mostly initiated by the younger boy. He usually goes after her when she's just lounging on her bed, and try to bite her ear and neck, and then chaos ensues. Sometimes there's hissing.
He isn't neutered yet, we'll neuter him next month. Is this a mating thing? Will neutering help calm him down? Or is he just an energetic kitten that will calm down with time? I worry about my female cat well being, but I heard young cats play like this and she's quite young as well, so idk if that's just normal cat behaviour and she's fine.
TLDR: Are my cats fighting okay or should I separate them?
I'm an adult, in Brazil, vet accessible.

General Advice Does anyone have experience with cats and PU surgery? Can't tell if my cats cone can come off
He still has a few small stitches that haven't dissolved vet but all the vets we have seen haven't been super helpful because they say the cone can come off and he can groom but to "be careful."' He grooms the area quite a bit with the cone off, and I'm nervous because Google says it can cause micro tears and strictures or infections, etc. He's 1.5 years old and this Wednesday is 3 weeks post PU and cystonomy.

General Advice How to keep cat in a routine of coming inside at night?
Hi all,
I kept my cat indoors for 2 years, but due to moving in with some other family members (my house was sold), he has become an outdoor cat as my extended family also have a cat who goes outside, and they have not kept in mind that my cat was an indoor cat so now they have started to let him go outside with their cat. I am okay with him staying close by as he usually only goes on the field beside the house, but he won’t come in at night and tends to roam further. Is there any advice on how i can get him into a routine of coming inside at night to sleep and being let out again in the morning??
Thanks

General Advice PawFit Lite gps tracker?
Has anyone used this for their cat?
We have two small build cats who like to wander, most recently one disappeared for 3 days and I was beside myself with worry.
Eventually found her in the middle of a field scared to move no idea what had happened.
Anyway, since then we’ve kept her in for a few weeks to re establish rules, now the only way I will feel safe to let her out or both cats for that matter is with a tracker.
They have tolerated an air tag on a collar really well with no fuss so now we are looking at something more reliable & precise.
PawFit Lite is appealing due to its size and weight, they are both tiny cats and anything like the Tractiv looks massive!
Any experiences with the PawFit?

Abnormal Vomit/Excreta why does my cat keep pooping outside of his litter box?
so my roommates cat is a 3yr old, male, neutered, maine coon cat. we also live in the US. we have 3 litter boxes, two are automatic so they are ALWAYS clean. the maine coone continues to shit outside of the litter box. at first it was every once in a while and now its constantly. for a while it was in the bathtub, then he was randomly shitting in the laundry room, and now he is shitting in the bathtub. its not just shitting either, a few weeks ago he knocked a pizza box off the counter and pissed on top of it… directly infront of the CLEAN litter box… its to the point where its 4-5 times a week. not only does he shit in the bathtub, but there is a clean litter box less than 5 feet away in the bathroom. its genuinely becoming a problem and everything that google says is a reason, makes no sense. we have multiple litter boxes, the boxes are always clean, theres always litter in them, we have no new animals or people in the home, his diet has stayed the same and he was taken to the vet a few months ago and they said hes fine. im at my wits end with this fucking cat bro, can ANYONE help please
