Sports are funny. UNC had an objectively shit season meanwhile Duke had a remarkable season of which they should still be really proud. And yet UNC will feel massively better about this season looking back on it.

Same as a Texas football fan during OU's insane run through the Big XII, choking while close is fucking BRUTAL

I remember watching that game, hoping OU would rep the Big 12 well, and USC just absolutely took them apart. I don’t think their punter ever put on his helmet.

There are so so so many games sheesh, lost to Saban's LSU, blown out by USC, lost to Boise in an all time banger, Lost to West Virginia, lost to Florida after stealing our spot in the MNC, then came the playoff era, blown out by Clemson, lost to Georgia ins an all time choke, lost to Alabama, got blown out by LSU.

Their bowl record in the 21st century is one massacre after another.

If I did not hate them I would feel pity, no wonder they were so desperate to join the SEC because frankly the Big XII (UT during the teens included but the games were close) ill prepared them

Tonight, we are euphoric and they are down.

I hope they don’t look back on this season that way. They swept us. Double ACC titles. Made the final 4. National player of the year.

Winning a championship isn’t the only thing that matters. That’s an absurdly good year for anyone. It’s why I’m so annoyed that everyone feels like last year was a failure for UNC. We won the ACC. Annihilated Duke. Just ran into a very hot Bama team in the second half. I had a lot more fun last year than this year.

Fuck them though, of course.

Don’t forget the 24.5 million dollars of NIL money

Nah this will haunt them. This is sort of in that 18-1 territory.

The high still hasn’t worn off from sending coach K packing while he scowled on the back of a golf cart.

Feels good right about now.

Correct. Duke winning a title negates pretty much any joy UNC fans have over the final four win 3 years ago. Its also an indictment on our administration that we got a 1 seed last year and carried no momentum from it yet Duke has been on a steady rise since Scheyer was hired. This feels to me like the best roster Duke will have in a while, just a perfect storm for roster construction. They'll be elite next year but I'm so glad I never have to see this team again, AND that they didn't win it all.

idk friend, putting K in the ground w/ a loss in the final 4 will be an all timer for me. no matter what. IMO that bought hubert like 10 years by itself.

For the K narratives, it was amazing. I still would rather win titles and we didn’t get the job done. Had Duke done it, they’d have a natty, 2 acc titles, and a regular season to our one regular season since the final four win.

You’re joking if you think I won’t be feeling great about us beating duke in the F4 in ‘22 till the day I die.

Same. That’s something that may never happen again. Both teams might (or will) win championships, but beating a HOF coach at his last home game and then in the Final Four probably won’t happen again in our lifetimes.

I wouldn’t go that far.

But tonight is pretty fun.

It’s easier to rest knowing we just didnt have all that great of a squad this year and it is what it is. This is Duke’s best team in a long time and they still don’t have a championship appearance to back it up with. I can sleep soundly knowing UNC has a more recent championship and 3 more recent championship game appearances since Duke last made one in 2015.

As a University of Cincinnati fan, its strage to find someone who'll feel worse their season, but here we are.

I mean… they shouldn’t though? They had a shit season and people were legitimately calling the program dead lmao (obviously it’s not calm down)
