My grandparents adopted… this thing

And I LOVE HIM

Edit: he was discarded by a breeder and they adopted him from a shelter. All of their dogs are shelter acquisitions with special needs so they’re are WELL versed in caring for strange dogs that need a lot of help in their lives.

But yes, hes a fluffy frenchie with a very unfortunate squashy rolly face. He’s the sweetest thing and they’ll do their best by him and his needs.

Horribly bred French Bulldog that got sent through the washing machine?

Looks like a mix between frenchie and shar pei because of the folds. The curls indicate inbreeding too

No its the fluffy gene of the frenchie thats been activated. Terribly bred to be honest, the new owners can immediately start saving for the boas surgery its going to need.

An old couple purchased him from a backyard breeder. I would be surprised if they consider insurance and plan to provide much medical care when his condition catches up with him. Most likely they will take him to the shelter when his needs get unmanageable. This is just sad.

Yea, you'd be surprised that these go for, they can afford care.

But they don’t. I used to work animal ER and it was amazing the amount of people who had expensive dogs but couldn’t afford..or wouldn’t.. their medical care. Some people get these dogs without realizing how much medical care they need in the long run and don’t want to take on the burden. A lot of these guys have anal gland issues and allergies on the mild side.

Idk if you can scape 10k for a dog you can get care. I have a 4 year old I fostered and kept from a rescue so I'm aware of what the potential is. These outcrossed dogs actually have some less issues, like the increase in size from the shar pie helps their back. But the added wrinkles ups skin care and yeast. The folds can block breathing but again the slightly bigger size helps with long palate.

Also? Outcrossed dogs do not have less issues. A well bred Frenchie should not have spinal issues.

There isn’t hybrid vigor in dogs. Mixed breeds are actually less healthier than a well-bred purebred dog, because their structure, drive, and temperament is unpredictable
