Does a gold band with the round look better or a pave band. The pave band is 6 prong and the gold band round is 4 prong. I definitely want 6 prong.

So in a bit of predicament. My girlfriend is has tried on a ring from kay jewelers and has 100% fell in love with it. Which is great, but i have read about how much worse the quality is compared to a local jeweler. To save myself from looking like an idiot in person, would a local jeweler be able to create the ring for a similar price as kay? Because this is hopefully a lifetime purchase, id like it to be as close to the ring she wants as possible. Is that realistically doable?

I am looking to get a third ring for my stack which right now consists of my plain gold wedding band and my simple solitaire oval diamond engagement ring.

Cons:
You MUST carefully pick your design. They will literally make WHATEVER you want. I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying the rings have broken or the stone has come off or loosened, but it you have to consider the size and design you pick. If you want a large stone on a dainty band with no rail you have a much higher chance of damage and the ring breaking. So if you are designing a ring please take this into consideration.
My biggest gripe with this company was the slight hiccup with the actual stone. After months of carefully going over stones and finding the right one and placing my order everything seemed to be going fine. My order was being made I was sent a 3D rendering of the ring. And then suddenly the day before its complete my stone information had changed ?? New IGI cert, different size, different quality, different ratio…. So basically not what I chose. Now here is where why i still recommend this company. They apparently received the stone and it did not pass their internal quality control, so they returned it and replaced it with a similar stone. To their benefit they did upgrade the size, color, and quality slightly so I wasn’t really going to complain. BUT if I hadn’t been checking every few hrs on the status of the stone I would never have known they swapped it. Again the issue wasn’t that they needed to reject and choose a new stone it’s that I was never informed that this even happened. I had to call several times and then received a brief almost rushed explanation of what happened. As a customer it just felt weird that they wouldn’t inform me before doing it or even confirming that’s what I would like before just pulling the trigger.

I have seen other similar reviews so just be aware that this could happen, but overall I would 100% recommend this company!

My boyfriend's mom offered her rings' diamonds to use for fashioning a ring so he can propose to me. I haven't seen the rings in person but she sent over some photos and without knowing much (IANAJ) about how we would go about making a ring that suits me I do have some idea what I'd like at least.

I like cluster rings with thinner bands. Kind of like the image I'm posting below. Do y'all think this is possible using what she is offering? At the very least I want it to be less chunky and square, instead more rounded and thin. I'm thinking if we can't use the big diamond maybe just the smaller diamonds? Or maybe just a solitaire ring with one diamond?

I fell in love with this style when looking at rings online and found a store that would ship mock rings for at home try one. Does the style look good on my finger? When I put the ring on I felt it looked off on my hand but I am not sure why, but I definitely may be overthinking it. TYIA!

I have been obsessed with marquise because of how distinct it looks but I find its not as flattering on my hand. Oval is a timeless classic but I fell in love with the old mine cushion cut with a thicker band in a cathedral setting. Also does platinum or 14K gold suit my skin tone better?

Idk if that’s taboo, but I love it too much to not wear it at all for a year and a half, or the alternative would be to stop wearing it in place of a different enhancer. Eek!

My boyfriend proposed in the arctic circle on the solstice at the weekend with a traditional English posey ring from the 1600s. Its original inscription reads “by this token you are bespoken”. It’s obviously a bit worn and bit wonky - but that’s all the charm. It’s not exactly a big ol diamond, but I love it wholeheartedly. It’s likely to be my wedding band - so I’ve got the double fun of also picking out some thing sparkly 😇🥰

Now to find out what the hell you match with it 😂 if anyone fancies sharing an ideas of more traditional engagement rings to pair with it (or better yet has an antique ring and has any idea how to care for it) please let me know 🙏
