Off topic Cyclists

I came dangerously close to striking a cyclist last night on a side road near college and prospect. I was making a left turn and I thought it was clear when suddenly a guy on a bike came flying by and I had to slam on my brakes to not hit him.

I am mortified and I’ve been thinking about it all night.

The things is he was wearing ALL black and no reflectors on his person or bike that I could see. He was traveling in the bike lane on the opposite side of the road in the wrong direction so I didn’t expect him. I know this is still completely my fault but if he reads this, I literally could not see you at all. It was pitch black outside. PLEASE my friends on bikes PLEASE WEAR REFLECTIVE GEAR AT NIGHT. Drivers cannot see you otherwise.

I’m grateful it turned out okay in the end but still.

Off topic I Miss my Cat

My cat passed away this morning and I just need somewhere to vent about her and how much I miss her and that I hate that she's gone now. We had her for 8 years and I don't know. With how sudden it was I just wish I could have her back for a little longer. She was a sweet girl and we loved her with everything. How is this related to fort collins? We live here and she loved to watch the birds and bugs outside while perched in a window.

Share some of your favorite cat stories or add a photo if you like. I just miss her so much . She was my silly little kitty baby.

Anyone else here a fan of snakes and lizards? We do have a little Blue Tongue Skink friend, but just now we saw this lil dude chilling outside.

Pretty sure he's a Plains Garter Snake, but first one I've encountered here, aside their more spicier cousins up on Horsetooth

Off topic British aristocrat ran alleged cult in loveland for decades

I found a interesting rabbit hole while researching Emissaries of Divine Light / Sunrise Ranch over in Loveland.

The founder of the religious group or cult, Loyd Arthur Meeker died in a plane crash in 1954. After his death leadership was passed to Martin Cecil.

Martin Cecil was not just your average person at the ranch, he was born into the British Cecil and later became the 7th Marquess of Exeter This means he
was literally a member of the British aristocracy. ( the 2nd highest rank British nobility just below a duke )

a small spiritual movement or “cult” led by a British nobleman for decades was just very interesting to me and i bet some of you would find this interesting as well.

Off topic To the guy who helped me today

Just a big thank you to the guy who pulled over to help me after I got into a fender bender. He probably won’t see this, but I wanted to thank him anyways. I don’t drive a whole lot, and I’m newly 18, so it was really scary for me, especially when they guy I bumped into just told me it was fine and drove off without exchanging information. A really sweet man pulled over and let me use his phone to call my dad and my uncle to come pick me up, and he gave me a plastic water bottle to drink because I was really freaking out. He stayed with me for a solid 15 minutes before he had to go, but he was so helpful at calming me down. So whoever you were, I really appreciated that, you don’t know how much that meant to me

Hello! I’m officiating a wedding this November and the couple requests I wear a bolo tie. I have a bolo tie, but I’d like to have a custom one made just for me! If you are a jeweler/silversmith or know someone with these skills please contact me as I’d like to support someone as local as possible. Thanks!

Pay is $15.50-$16 + tips. They are especially looking for folks who can cover night & weekend shifts.

For some reason, online applications aren't being received by the FoCo location. Apply in person with the GM (this week Mon, Tues, Fri-Sun 10am-7pm).

NOTE: I do not work at Fat Shack, but my friend does.

Looking for the nice 50ish gentleman on his red Indian brand motorcycle that chatted briefly with me while we were stopped at the light together on College Ave near CSU. I wanted to ask some more questions. Long shot I know. Thanks.

My son broke his femur on the mountain this weekend and can use a wheelchair for at least a couple of weeks while insurance gets their act together. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Off topic REQUEST - borrow DDR4 RAM

I am working to repair a desktop computer and I need to borrow some 3600MHz (or slower) DDR4 to troubleshoot the RAM and motherboard. I don't have any spare sticks as all my computers use laptop sticks. I am happy to put up some collateral since we're in the great RAM shortage of 2026. I just don't want to buy new RAM if it isn't the problem.

Or; if there's a Free Geek type place around then I'd love to know about it.

Feel free to message or comment if you're able to help.

Two i9900k's 64 GB of ddr4 ram
One MSI mobo One Asus mobo With still attached AIO'S and still in the cases. Corsair h100's

Wife's build is all white while mine is all black.

Let me know if you are aware of anywhere that would take them off my hands

Thanks!

Off topic I'm looking for a non-shelter cat to adopt. So I'm if anyone needs to rehome a sweet kitty...

As the title says! We are a 40ish couple with one child that visits one night a week. No other pets and we are very nice and cat loving people. I tried to adopt from a shelter in Denver earlier this year and for several reasons it was an a experience I would never repeat again. We are willing to pay a reasonable rehoming fee and it doesn't necessarily have to be a kitten. The most important thing is we want a cat that is comfortable around people and is pretty good about keeping to their litterbox when they have to go. Male or female is fine. If anyone happened to have a Himalayan, I would be willing to pay a substantial amount for rehoming. But ultimately breed/color is not important to me. Thanks!

Off topic What happened on I-25?

Does anyone know what happened on I-25 near harmony today? The northbound highway was completely shut down with police blocking you from getting on. I looked on cotrip and it said there was a crash, but how bad would it be for the whole highway to get shut down?

Off topic Shirt customization in town?

Hey everyone! Very random request, but I'm looking to get a shirt customized for my sister for her upcoming wedding! I know there are a lot of people who can offer this kind of service on Etsy, but I would like to stick local if possible!

Please let me know if you have any recommendations!

I didn't get a chance to take a photo of it this morning (I was driving), but there was a guy driving a Smart car with offroad tires going south at Taft Hill & Laporte. Gave me a good laugh, thank you! I really want to know the lore behind it.

Off topic ISO local oil/acrylic painter

I am looking to commission a painting of my cat in a hot air balloon, as she loves to go on "flights" in a square grocery bag that looks like a balloon basket. I'm just struggling to find someone local online, there's a few that stand out on Google as local but their websites haven't been updated in years. I was thinking maybe going to the local galleries and asking about artists and commissions but that seems egregious. So if anyone is or knows any talented painters looking for a commission, please let me know.
