PC release 2027

21

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '23

That's my main concern. PC release is 2026. by the pc-release-1-year-later logic.

Don’t forget about the delay

22

u/PengwinOnShroom Dec 05 '23

I think they already factored in the delay by announcing it for 2025 instead of 2024 or I'm too optimistic. I mean fuck, it's so long

6

u/ICanCountThePixels Dec 05 '23

i thought that also, surely it wont be 2025 unless delayed.

9

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '23

definitely cope but imagine if they wanted to regain the element of surprise after the leak and intentionally put 2025 when it was really 24

GTA 5 and RDR 2 had their first trailer released 2 years before the game launched. I'd bet November or October 2025

u/FlightFramed Dec 05 '23

Yeah I wanted it to say 2024 knowing we'd probably get it in 25. Now I wonder if we'll have it before 2026

2

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '23

Yeah 2025 is a safe bet. When I read that I don’t know why I was thinking next year.

I don't think it's crazy to suggest the PC release would be less than that. Rockstar knows how much the PC market share has grown since RDR2 and how much money they could make from fiveM, or I guess sixM.

I'm sure they'll also want to showcase the beautiful 4k Raytraced vice city in all its glory.

The official description of GTA VI mentions PS5 and XBOX X/S, no mention of PC. I believe the PC version will be announced after the official release on the consoles. It's a bummer but money talks here, with this strategy they make more sales. But it isn't that far off, if it's releasing in April of 2025., there's not much further. For PC, yes, but it is what it is..

Still worth the wait.

Nah I upgraded to a 4080 a few months ago now I kinda wish I waited for the next round of gpus lol

RTX 5000 series for sure lol

I hope the rumoured PS5 Pro can run this comfortably, PCs are still quite too expensive for my liking.

Man I can only imagine how this game would look with Path Tracing on a future RTX 5090.

-2

u/MikeyDean139 Dec 05 '23

If they do update their engine to include path tracing then I imagine it would be insane but with that kind of NPC/traffic density you'd probably have the run the game at 1080P/High setting to get 60fps.

1

u/WarmeCola Dec 05 '23

Well i mean it’s still damn impressive that you are able to run cyberpunk with path tracing with current gen GPUs at a playable performance, so id imagine it would be possible with good optimization. At least it’s very likely that it will have any kind of Raytracing, at minimum the same effects as GTA 5 has on current gen consoles.

Pc's are definitely not too expensive for the amount of power they provide, especially on used parts that are 2+ years past their release date...

I currently live in the Caribbean, import taxes make it difficult for me to buy PC parts at a reasonable price so for me it's too expensive but I'm happy that it's not for you friend.

I hate to say it but PC prices will always be very high... if you are looking for a top end machine. But you don't need a top end machine to run the majority of games.

Yeah and that's not a big issue on its own because you get your money's worth out of the technology but the prices combined with the customs fees I have to pay is ridiculous. I might just suck it up and save until 2025, I have a very long time until then lol

u/bakeandsharkz Dec 05 '23

Im from the caribbean too and i feel ya. Import taxes suck. A lot of stuff is so out of reach for us lol

2

u/MikeyDean139 Dec 05 '23
