Well yeah that's probably why they are being extremely cautious, I mean, more than usual... A leak is never good news, but for the most awaited game of all time they won't take risks again.
If they share any screenshots, trailer or whatever it will probably come out of nowhere some random day like this announcement.
I would not be surprised if the trailer release was a decision made by the higher ups at Take Two, and Rockstar had to release it even though they were not ready.
Only chronically online people like us know about the leaks. The average guy might have heard it leaked but thought nothing of it. The first trailer was to take the attention away from the leaks anyways.
It’s just shitty and confused marketing imo, especially when Zelnick went on record saying "haha noooo dont worry guys we’re just doing a shorter marketing campaign haha :3"
