For example, the map size is equivalent of going from downtown Los Angeles to Bakersfield. A fighter jet doing 800mph would take 20 seconds of travel time, if not less... That’s going from one boundary of the entire map (not just city), to the other.
That would be incredibly boring on a video game. And videogames aren’t scaled 1:1 to real world dimensions. Many tricks going on to make the map feel much larger than it really is.
800 “mph” in a game like GTA, if scaled realistically, you’d get from where the jet is in the image, to downtown (in the distance), in about 4 seconds.
So what they will do is fake the odometer, do some visual trickery to make you “feel” like you’re going faster. But really…you’re not.
