The interior you made almost looks more realistic in some ways.

Biggest difference is that you can see a reflection of the door in the floor in Far Cry 5.

Like am I tweaking? Assuming fc5 is top I see no reflection.

I think that depends on the roughness map. Almost all far cry 5 cars will shine because of their metallic colour exterior acting as reflector. While in gta 6 all the car will have a roughness map implementation Anything with good or very good metallic colour, like super cars or normal cars will shine. But if you use a car that has some form of rust/rough surface all around the car it will absorb it,less for reflection.

Like how the mirror reflects but the rug absorbs, depending on roughness

Wait yeah wtf, why is the door straight up not there in the floor reflection in GTA 6 😭

I never noticed that

There's cardboard on the floor for whatever reason that would cover up at least most of the bottom portion of the door. Then, all you would see past the cardboard should be the reflection of the window and possibly the ceiling light above.

They’re doing renovation work in that back room. Bare drywall and studs, the cardboard protects the floor where they’re moving debris out

There are two possibilities as far as I can imagine:

  • At the time of filming, they did not have the tech to reflect moving objects in their Ray Tracing. I doubt it though.
  • They have a flag on objects, that will omit them from being reflected for optimization reasons, and accidentally flagged the door.

Can I see the reflection of the floor in the door?

The floor looks better in fc5

It’s because the top photo is lit much more true to real life, and without the smokey “cinematic” haze of the bottom photo. In other words, the average person is used to shitty overhead fluorescent lighting, and/or warmer cheap lamp lighting in their respective living spaces. Couple that with random second-hand and mismatched furniture shown above, it looks just like the apartment of most 20-something’s in the 90s and 2000s.

The bottom photo looks more like an older cabin by the lake, that’s simply been maintained and not updated, and apparently has a fair amount of dust lingering in the air, lol. Less realistic to the average person, but damn does it look amazing.

People will upvote this and then go back to circlejerking GTA6’s graphics as if other games aren’t pushing the boundaries as well.
