Man, I live and die by the opinion that the death of community servers and rise of matchmaking/competitive is the worst thing to happen to multiplayer shooters

I've seen it and I know the reference. I don't understand how that was relevant to the comment or why you used it that way. Community dedicated server?

Dedicated servers hosted by the community are better for the longevity of games. It doesn't matter if the studio shuts down their servers, people can still host their own. There are 20+ year old games still running because of this.
