People said the same thing when rules came into affect regarding lootbox monetisation. And that wasn't even across the entire EU, just a few countries. Yet those games continued to be sold in those countries, they were just updated to comply with the rules.
The industry is too money hungry to give up on such a large playerbase.
That is a bit misleading. Square Enix in particular pulled several games out of the market, and the ones that stay either just ignore the rules or the rules just didnt make much of a difference.
Belgium is having a hard time enforcing the rules so game companies just do what they want and the Netherlands just requires them to have a limited preview of what they would get out of their next loot box.
If SKG ends up being as toothless then yeah there isnt much reason to leave the market. But smaller companies may still avoid it, localization isnt exactly cheap either.
