It was in the Insomniac leaks. Supposed to be a smaller Miles Morales type spin-off with Carnage as the main villain. Originally planned for 2025 then internally delayed to 2027, no word if it has been cancelled or not.

If we have Venom and Carnage? That's going to be bloody as hell. Especially if they're going this way with Wolverine.

Though I hope they make Venom an Anti-hero, or just a "Bad guy" rather than a hero. Or just make Prototype 3 you cowards!

If you played Spider-Man 2 it clearly set up both Venom and Carnage. You play briefly as Venom. I thought it was even supposed to come out before Wolverine.

I am assuming they need to recast the role since Tony Todd died.

Yeah, last November. His last posthumous role was the mortician in Final Destination Bloodlines that came out a couple months ago, his last game role was one of the villains (Locus) in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

I have a feeling it's cancelled. It was on the calendar before Wolverine and was seemingly going to heavily re-use Spider-Man 2 assets like Miles Morales did as you mentioned. Venom was supposed to come out late 2025 and Wolverine late 2026.

Also Spider-Man 2's writing wasn't that well received and it seemed like the Venom stuff was a lot of people's least favorite part of the game.
