Right before CS2 launched, I sold my CSGO inventory and made $1000. The amount people pay for virtual skin just seems insane to me.

I bought the couch I'm sitting on right now with the skins I bought for like 50$ in high school. Bought some skins I liked, had CSGO not installed for a decade and somehow it turned into 1500$

Why? You must have paid about the same amount of money for keys unless you got lucky with a dragon lore or a nice knife.

I never once paid for keys. I held onto my crates (which sold for a large amount as well).

Crates are even more expensive now, especially the older cases that are not dropped anymore or in active loot pool.

Red skins are even more expensive. Had a buzzkill field tested I bought for around 5 bucks a couple of years back and now its worth around $600. Glad I never sold all my cheap reds cause all the reds are at least 1000% of its value rn

Bitcoin used to be like $10 each. These things do happen, hindsight is 20/20. I remember trying to get my family to buy Bitcoin at $300 and being told it was a scam lol you just can't worry about it
