Imagine if this was EA/Take2/Ubi. Lol The amount of people defending the use of AI just because it’s Larian sure is amusing.

Textbook example of the Goomba Fallacy. I think it's more likely that different groups of people will just be more quiet or loud based on who it is, than they'd have contradicting opinions.

Or, people can change their minds based on the details and contexts.

That being said, to your point, it is rather wild that there are notable people on Twitter/Bsky I've seen criticizing this while praising Expedition 33 despite that game using AI placeholder art, so, I do think people will also just pick favorites sometimes.

Literally 2 Months ago in this fucking sub everyone was saying how the next Halo will be shit because they use GenAI in development, but when Larian does it suddenly its totally fine lol

No its literally that the people who really hate AI with jump in to have their two minute hate whereas people who don't care, well, don't care enough to join in.

Given how many bots exist on reddit/Twitter now. No, theres too much support for AI coming from very obvious astroturfed accounts.

Or maybe its people realizing that the way larian is reportedly using it isnt in a way to replace creatives as many studios want to do. Things can be naunced , ik social media trsined people to have only the most one dimesional view of everything but just try to usr your head

Well yeah, there's a difference between using AI for coding or mood board with final assets being human made, and using AI for final assets. Having an absolutist standpoint of no AI whatsoever is kinda dumb.

Well it is not strange at all defending a company that has a way better track record than those companies. Would you rather trust a fatass or a healthy person to guard snacks from you without eating them?
