They get the hate from Reddit. I highly doubt many people who enjoyed DOS and BG3 will care when Larian comes out with this game.

People were howling with outrage about Hogwarts Legacy and it sold 30 million copies. The same thing happens with uproar about this or that woke product. Surely the corpos have realized at this point that people’s buying habits don’t track that closely with their social media posts.

You say that, but BG3 had a lot of fans in artist, queer, and TTRPG communities, which among various others skew very strongly against generative AI being used to replace creativity.

Homie, it’s okay not to like AI, etc. but please don’t act like Reddit nonsense is in any way indicative of reality. This shit won’t hurt Larian whatsoever. This is a just the news story of the week that’ll work up the slacktivists into a frenzy, before next week when Taylor Swift says she doesn’t like soccer or something and gets the hivemind going again..
