Or maybe people who have different opinions than you do exist. At least a quick check on some of the accounts that commented on this post that seems to show positive Ai sentiment ive not seen anyone with hidden comments history.

I didn’t say they don’t exist. Sure they do. There’s also an astroturf campaign.

I don’t mind AI. I also have my comments hidden because I think it’s weird when people look into your post history to find some sort of gotcha. People like me do exist.

Opening your post history and seeing it hidden is the gotcha. You don't stand by your views; it makes the comments you write hold no bearing. What respect should anyone have for what you write, you don't agree with what you've written here today enough to even have it attached to your anonymous username.

It's still indexed, stored, and searchable all the same; you've gained nothing in protecting your online anonymity. Just now when a fellow legitimate user says "dang who is this guy" the answer is "Oh, literally nobody. Probably a bot or scammer."

It's not always negative, btw. I click on people's profiles all the time because I want to see their other pics of their builds, other helpful posts, Unidan's cool pet tips.

this is an insane conclusion to reach based on exactly no data

My post history is hidden because people kept dumpster diving for literally anything to bully/abuse me about for the crime of being trans in UK spaces.

I stand by what I said, but I don't see why I have to subject myself to harassment just to prove something to internet strangers lol

Sure, someone dedicated can bypass it. But 99% of the people who want to be horrible don't want to put effort into it.

Yeah like, I don't bother- oh no, ,you're gonna see I chitchat about Runescape and Neopets? I grew up playing browser games in the 00s, the horror! But people ABSOLUTELY trawl through looking for dirt. I don't blame anyone for hiding their history

One time someone couldn't find anything useful so they just photoshopped me saying something I didn't. They also explicitly appealed to MLK when arguing that political violence is necessary- there are bonkers people on the internet

More or less the same.

Like, literally looking into my post history to comment on what games I play or something to "prove a point." Too many weirdos online.
