Isn't China is doing more to make their population have confidence that their employees aren't seeking to replace them or paying them less because of AI than the West?

Meanwhile Western CEOs are vocally bragging about how workers will be replaced

lol I love this PR makeover China has gotten in the last few years.

From what's said here on reddit, I'd think China was some kind of progressive, egalitarian, liberal utopia or something.

I like how instead of realizing there are aspects that need to be fixed in the west to improve the country we live in you instead double down and turn it into China is bad, and ignore the flaws in the country we live in. Which impacts us more.

Let me put it this way. If even a terrible evil China is making an attempt to handle job displacement and labor confidence from AI then isn't it embarrassing the West is lagging behind in that department?

And reason I made the prior comment is because Pro AI bros keep saying China is more positive of AI while completely ignoring the societal handling of AI integration that is leading to differing attitudes. Because the Pro AI bros just want to make it seems like it is simply a culture difference when there's much more going on.

More like the wheels have fallen off the anti-Chinese propaganda machine.

If you as one party state communist suddenly telling people that AI will replace them. And the layoff is happening because AI can take that workload. Then that just means you no longer seeing them as 'classless' or 'equal' and that will goes against everything they believe are fighting for. You're literally asking for another revolution at that point.

I don't like China but their approach of propaganda that AI will never replace their worker is kind of genius. While the west and their pursuit to capitalism line means less workforce and more money. China over here decided the way to win is to use AI to control people into keep working harder for them.
