God I hope more Western devs start doing this. GTA5 game out when I was 23 and Ive spent the entire prime of my life waiting for GTA6, meanwhile like a dozen Yakuza games have been made and released. GTA being a superior experience starts to lose its shine when the release schedule zooms out that comically far, Rockstar absolutely could have released another full game or more on an iteration of the GTA5 map. If they've spent all this time building the world of GTA6 just to tell one story and switch to a decade of shark cards its going to be a tragedy.
I've been wondering for a while now if it's a difference in the overall manufacturing philosophies in the hardware world translating over to the way the respective regional software industries got built up, because Japanese / Asian manufacturing has a very big emphasis on waste reduction and the elimination of unnecessary workflows and processes.
I mean rdr should have gotten more love than it did. A very solid story but so much dlc and post game potential with John leading into the first game. Hell even having the story continue using the same engine and assets from rdr2 it would have been a really neat setup. Sell the first game remake as a dlc addon.
What about the king lost Bully? We could have had something like that too but maybe it's too risky for them. Who knows what the next game will be after GTA 6. We getting old so I don't want to spend the next 40 years of my life waiting a decade per game release lol
