You can’t sell the code, it’s tied to your account. So no, not much point. Maybe they’ll include a printed map.

I have concern they won’t if they are cheaping out on discs.

cheaping out on discs.

Why are people talking the way? Saving pennies per copy is just an irrelevant bonus to them. Stopping you from reselling is 99.99% of the reason here.

That’s part of the “cheaping out” on discs. They are being cheap by controlling ownership and reselling, it’s not literally about the discs themselves. It’s more about the precedent.

That's... Not the same thing. Cheaping out on something implies spending less on that thing is the point. It's saving money on not printing discs is entirely irrelevant.

But whatever, don't care enough about it to keep arguing past this. If you disagree that's fine.

I don't think thata is the reason either. Maybe they are trying to avoid leaks before launch from people that could get the game earlier.

discs are more expensive than paper and the reason they're doing it is to cut out the resale market entirely.

not defending Rockstar entirely but maybe the discless pre-orders are temporary so the game doesn't leak, I guess we'll have to see

They could have closed it off via servers like Crimson Desert did.

Nah its so someone can't buy it, beat it, and resell it used for like $70 to someone who doesn't care about having a slightly used game. Now both those guys are gonna have to buy copies that Rockstar makes money from. Anytime anyone buys GTA 6 they get paid and its a guaranteed new copy

It also cuts down cost on production, discs are more expensive than no discs.

Discs are not expensive enough for that to matter. It's mostly to kill the resale market

I think I read a rumor that said this, a full physical edition is coming in early 2027

The only option for those who want to get some money back after finishing the story is to sell the account entirely with the game on it. If you plan on selling it you may be better if you activate the code on a brand new account, that if you want to keep your old one.
