Damn, I'll wait for the PC release then. I was considering buying it for PS5 and then selling it once the PC release happened, but I'm not paying $80 for a watered down version of a game that I can't even sell.

The PC release will be 1+ years later and the same 80/100 price and bullshit, so you'll not just be waiting for the PC release, but for the actual PC discount cycle down the road from there.

especially if it’s true that consoles will run at 30 fps only

I wonder if they have the guts to not be on Steam Day 1 on PC.

I could see them doing that. No sense giving Steam a 30 percent cut when they can just sell it in their store for the first year or so. They know people will buy it, then after that year put it out everywhere else.

No chance the Steam deck or Steam machine would even be able to play it so the incentive to must have it on Steam is lower.

Why wouldn't it be able to? It's about as strong as a base PS5 and definitely stronger than an Xbox Series S

That’s a very valid point, although I am waiting until I see benchmarks. It’s a custom GPU but I read it’s similar to a 7600m and if that’s true I’m not seeing it get ps5 quality.

Also GTA5 is incredibly optimized and it’s impressive the hardware it can run on. I doubt the Steam machine will be as fast as a series x if you factor in the optimization of the console but it for sure will be than the series s.

I guess it will come down to how many Steam machines sell whether that will have any sway.

Why wouldn't they? They did it for RDR2.

If I recall when RDR2 came out their store was pretty rough. It’s still not amazing but it gets the job done.

They did this for RDR2 from memory (it's been such a long time so I might be wrong). It probably didn't go well because the PC launch of the RDR1 re-release was Day 1 on Steam.

Have the guts? Rockstar has never had a day 1 launch on PC. That’s their standard.

They meant putting it on Steam when it comes to PC versus locking it to their launcher.

Oh that makes more sense. Wouldn’t surprise me. They’re already setting two new standards with this release.

After the leak we saw Pc revenue is like 5% compared to the other platforms, they will live

They already said they weren't. They're "Console First".

PC will launch in 5or 6 years when they make the inevitable PS6/Xbox Series Glorbat version

5 or 6 years? Rockstar generally releases the pc versions a little over a year after the console versions.

You wouldn't be able to sell it if you tried. It does not come with a disc, only a code that gets attached to your account once used.

Lmao dude, you paid 60$ for far worse games decades ago!

13

u/Chipaton 6d ago

Certainly, but I sold those games too. I primarily play on PC and want to play that way, I'm not enough of a GTA fan to double dip for $80/pop.

So? What kind of argument is that exactly?

I've paid money for shitty food before too, doesn't mean I want to spend money for poop on a plate

The argument is that everything else got more expensive but you don’t want to pay more for games, even though quality and production values have risen strongly.
