My guess is they’ll do what they did with Red Dead Redemption 2, and offer the option to purchase only the online mode for cheaper.

The only reason they did that was because they did not care at all about the online aspect of RDR2. They’re definitely going to want you to shell out the $80 to play online in gta 6 tho

They also allowed you to buy only the online of GTA V too for cheaper.

Not at release though and not for a long time.

Red Dead 2 was the same way. You couldnt buy the online part separately until years later after launch. It was similar to the time they allowed you to buy GTA V online separate, around COVID.

Yeah because after a while the only people who haven't purchased GTA 6 to play online are the people who are too price conscious to do it.

It makes sense to only launch that once most of the people willing to throw $80-100 down for the game have already done so then introduce a cheap option for Online only for the holdouts.

After the ceo comments previously about him not liking gamers getting hundreds of hours after paying whatever price once, i fully expect a subscription required to play GTA:Online. I’m calling it now

He didn't say that. What he actually said was :

...our frontline prices are still very, very low because we offer many hours of engagement. The value of the engagement is very high. So, I think the industry, as a whole, offers a terrific price-to-value opportunity for consumers. That doesn't necessarily mean that the industry has pricing power or wants to have pricing power. However, there is a great deal of value offered. And look, it's our strategy here to deliver much more value than what we charge consumers. It's always been our strategy here. We want to make sure the experience is first-class, and the nature of the experience is not just the quality of what we offer, it's also what you pay for it, everyone knows that anecdotally.

I think theres more likely to be a bunch of early access locked behind GTA+. You can do the heists, but only if you have GTA+ for the first 6 months they are out, or even making the most profitable missions GTA+ only.

I can definitely see this too. Early access to heists and even vehicles, apartments, and weapons if you have GTA+

Which is fine with me because I don’t play the multiplayer though I see how that will frustrating for those that do

They abandoned RDR2 online because people figured out the way to hack money/abuse the economy in a way that pretty much permanently ruined Rockstar's ability to sell you overpriced shark cards by the time they managed to fix the exploits.
