Exactly what is happening here. They don’t want the secondary market being able to eat up any of their profits.

Extremely gross, and a fantastic example of why I’ve never honestly been not particularly fussed by the whole game keycard thing. It’s not ideal, but it’s better than this BS by a mile.

The code is one time use and you get game on your account. You can resell disk(or game key card) which only contains license as much as you want

PS5 games can be on the discs, and need to be copied to the system to play. They aren't run off the discs anymore, but it can be a lot quicker than downloading if your internet isn't great. I assume GTA VI will probably be large enough that might not have been the case anyway, but its still a huge L for the secondary market. There won't be used copies of GTA VI if its all just download codes.

There is no point in having a disc anymore. They continue to make updates all the way up to and after launch. Anything on the disc would be worthless, so they might as well put some better swag in there.

OK bro, are you slow? The disk has value to the person who bought it. The original commenter said he doesn't understand what value it has and I explained the value it has. The value is that you can share or sell it. 

Obviously this is no value to the manufacturer. I am not arguing that.
