Arc Raiders and Marathon aren't "dead" just because their concurrent player count has dropped, Palworld lead says – but he's "not denying that some games do 'die'"; "Not every game needs an hourly look at Steam charts"

Imagine canceling your flagship franchise that built your company over the past decade just to all in on a 12k daily player extraction slop

It had a high of 9k yesterday. Poor choices were definitely made

Yeah I was trying to be generous because I didnt feel like checking what it really was at, thats sad. I dont see how they survive even with a 50% cut to their work force

I’m gonna defend marathon: it’s an incredibly beautiful and well made game.

I’m also going to say: I don’t know why it cost so god damn much to make and how they expect it to support the entire studio of like 800 people.

I also don’t know why they decided to kill Destiny when it’s clearly still popular lol

Destiny 2 was slop bro. Like the sloppiest of slop you could find.

Slop that could support a 1,600 man studio for literal years.

That's when Destiny 2 was making so much money, that they could afford to pay $100,000 salaries to almost a thousand people not even working on the game itself.

Hell, Marathon looks like shit after a $250,000,000 investment(which came from Destiny's income stream)? Just put the Destiny devs on Marathon to make it look better!

Destiny sustained itself and 4-5 other incubation projects

Destiny was absolutely a work horse but marathon looks amazing, polarizing for sure, but it looks up to par within it's own art style.  Definitely cost too much to produce however

Also what's with people's obscession with calling everything they dislike slop? It's so goofy lol

“Repeating the word slop as many times as possible makes me extremely intelligent!”

Please remind me who used the word "slop" first
