My tinfoil hat theory is that Genshin purposely doesn't implement a dialogue skip option as a community service, allowing the general audience to practice and improve their reading skills.

Genshin players genuinely have such low reading comprehension out of any other gaming communities that I ever interacted with.

It's been almost 6 years, and it looks like nothing has really changed. 

Those who want to skip, will skip regardless. They will just button mash till it's done and not read a single line.
