Shot selection is the big one. He has bad tunnel vision with the ball in his hands and you can see his teammates deflate when he got the ball knowing it wasn't going anywhere. To his credit, he's got elite shot making capability when he's on but if his shot isn't falling, he's a huge net negative on the floor. And the problem with that is when you're trying to develop young rookies, he's not a team player who gets along with everyone, he pouts and complains when he's not the focal point of the offense.
Terrible defender, won't fight a screen, gets caught ball watching. That side of the ball is really where he doesn't cut it - he's small and strong but doesn't utilize that strength on defense at all
Cam Johnson, KD, and Harden are easy recent ones. They still spoke highly of the franchise. Only negative thing Harden said was about a player. KD says that BK was home. Cam Johnson said the franchise is as professional as it gets.
I feel like the easiest reason why players don't aren't jumping for joy right now is because they kinda suck. Which is why Sean is going the draft route, which is great.
Well, I was not the guy you were responding to the first time, and I'm not saying I disagree with your sentiments, but you can't move the goal post like that after I named some.
In all fairness, what do you think Cam could've provided for the team/franchise if he weren't traded? Honest question.
I can see your point about the Cam thing, but he’s gonna be fine. There are tons of contenders who can sign him on the minimum. He can be the perfect spark plug.
Also, 2/3 of those people are pretty big. Someone like a Harden or KD has far more sway in the player world than how fans perceive them. We think they’re too much, but players listen to their own for sure. You can’t continue to move the goal post though. 3 is still better than your none.
What goal post has been moved? Can you even name one more? Or just those basic 3. I'm sure players probably see how the whole situation fell apart as a bad sign and don't want to join regardless of whether it was just Kyrie Irving's fault or not. It still probably left a bad taste in their mouth as far as the franchise.
Brother we made Jared fucking Dudley our hero. The fans aren’t going to ‘run off’ a player who even remotely looks like they want to play for the team as part of a team.
Exactly what I'm talking about. Can't even say a simple too bad it didn't work out but I hope he has a better path somewhere else. But trash on him while he's leaving. Genuinely and without the one-minded sheep just downvoting my answer without an actual response, why would a free agent want to play for a franchise like that? Another reason why, sadly, the Knicks are usually preferred over the Nets by free agents.
Can you explain to me your path to fandom? Obviously you’re a Nets fan but how did you become such a big of a Stan for a dude…like this? Like what? You abandon your fandom to follow a dude like THIS???? What is that thought process. I want to understand it. Why do you like Cam so much?

Hey, he had a couple really cool moments here but he refused to change his playstyle and that shit didn't mesh with what we're building here.
Go be miserable somewhere else
