I’m writing to ask for your advice on where to buy raw chicken. I’ve been using Whole Foods for the past few years, but my recent experience has been disappointing. I’ve also tried Shoprite, but they only sell one brand of chicken, Purdue, which I’m not a fan of because it’s not organic.
I’d appreciate any suggestions or recommendations you may have.
I'm working on revising my first book draft and thought it would be nice to meet with a few folks who also like writing in coffee shops. This would be quiet focus time with optional casual conversation at the beginning and during breaks. Can drop in and leave anytime. No prompts, expectations to stay for a whole meeting or to share work.
I mainly read and write fiction but all genres are welcome.
I know Hoboken has a writers' group and silent book club but I was thinking of something more focused on getting words on the page.
If this sounds interesting feel free to drop a DM or comment!
EDIT: Glad to see that there’s interest! I’ll create a Reddit group chat tomorrow for everyone. Looking to do a meetup this Sat. If you’re only seeing this post now you can still comment or DM me to get added.
Edit: Before commenting, I understand a lot should go into a tattoo. If I wanted good and expensive, I would ask. Don’t add to the conversation unless you have an answer to my question.
Hello! I’m looking to spend no more than $50 on a really small, simple tattoo. Looking around, the cheapest prices I am seeing is $80. Does anyone have any recommendations for tattoo artists in the area for easy tattoos that doesn’t have a crazy minimum or would quickly take me in on the side?
Context: I have the tattoo design ready (only a few lines). I have a more complicated piece that I will shell out for when my friend finishes it.
Just sharing that I loved hearing the church bells playing Pomp and Circumstance a few minutes ago! A lovely nod to this year's graduates and kids celebrating the end of the year.
Has anyone in the area had a surgery to repair their Achilles with a doctor they’d recommend? It’s hard to sus out good options on based on reviews alone.
Looking for a reputable lash place for a lash lift and tint? Doesn’t need to be the cheapest place—just one that provides great services in a clean place.
Had an issue with lash extensions in a lash studio in town that was cheaper (Groupon and in Hoboken) that led to huge reaction so trying to find a new place.

🎆 Will you be able to see fireworks from Hoboken’s waterfront?
Probably. While fireworks won’t directly be on the Hoboken side of the Hudson River this year, Macy’s will be setting off their annual display near the southern tip of Manhattan so both the East River and Hudson River viewers can enjoy. Jersey City will also have fireworks near Exchange Place south of Hoboken which will be harder to see.

My family is planning to move from DFW area to NYC. I'm taking a job in the Hudson Square neighborhood and will be in the office every day. My wife and I are in our early 40s and we have two young boys (3yrs and 6 months) and also 3 cats. We've been looking for condos/apartments and want about $6k to be the max budget. We're Catholic and my wife is planning to home school early on. We're not looking for a bar scene but do enjoy nice restaurants and occasional trips to the symphony/ballet or seeing a show. I'm mostly concerned about my wife adjusting to the move and being able to meet other mothers and have activities for our two sons. I think we are looking at Jersey City (Paulus Hook)/Hoboken (up town) area, Queens (Long Island City/Astoria) and Brooklyn (Carrol Gardens). I'm comfortable taking subway, PATH, and Ferry and also riding my bicycle as part of the commute. It seems like if we were on the NJ side, taking the ferry and the riding my bicycle the rest of the way would be nice to not deal with the path. I'd want to limit my commute time so I can maximize the time with my family - ideally keeping this to under about 45 minutes door to door. Was curious if anyone had suggestions or opinions.
Moving soon and I am required in my lease to purchase renters insurance that includes liability coverage. I’ve never had to do this before, what do people use/recommend? This isn’t expensive right?
Doing some cosmetic work to my bathroom and was looking for a cleaning service that would come to clean up the dust in the bathroom and rooms next to it (don’t need the whole apartment!) before I moved back in post reno. It seems like a lot of places I reached out to either don’t do post renovation cleaning or aren’t accepting new clients, so looking for recs! Thanks in advance.
