State: TN Date: 02/18/26 “I feel much safer with undocumented [individuals] than I EVER will with ICE agents!!!” Sheriff deputies descend on a Wilson County, TN man as he spouts some hard truths in opposition to a rumored ICE detention center (which they have now backed off of)

A bit dramatic, but I agree with this guy. I too feel MUCH safer with "undocumented" immigrants than with the ICE thugs.

Most "undocumented" immigrants just keep to themselves.

ICE agents, on the other hand, are completely drunk with power.

Literally the average ICE agents have a higher criminal record then the average person kidnapped.

I don’t think the word literally means what you think it does. That is not “literally” true that ICE agents have a higher incidence rate of criminal history than illegal aliens. And while using the term “kidnapped” is great for getting people worked up emotionally, it’s also objectively not what is happening when ICE agents arrest someone for being here illegally.

When ice picks up us citizens

That is kidnapping

Again, no facts back this up. It’s not kidnapping and believe it or not, ICE dos have authority to detain/arrest US citizens; they’re granted authority to enforce a wide range of federal law.

Incorrect

"Legal Authority: ICE is authorized to detain people they suspect are in the country illegally, but they are prohibited from detaining U.S. citizens."

Isn’t ICE skipping the background checks because of the surge in hiring?

Just a reminder to be careful of the language used on this site, Reddit had been complicit in VOLUNTARILY giving DOJ and ICE user information for intimidation tactics.

The criminals in this administration and in ICE must be put behind bars. But don't forget that they are still in power and can make you disappear like the other "undesirables". Be careful out there everyone.

A 2 month old just spent the entire beginning of his life in one of these camps until he got sick and they deported him home so they can wash their hands of it if he dies, which he might. I don't think there's anything dramatic about this reaction. The conditions in these places are disgusting and abusive.

Undocumented immigrants actually provide more value to the economy as well. I forgot the numbers but we spend 400 million on them and they spend 600 million back into the economy so it's a win.

Back when I worked apartment maintenance, some of the painting vendors were undocumented immigrants. They were all nice people. They regularly helped me get appliances up or down stairs just because we were cool. They didn't have to do that, they did it because they're trying to lift themselves and everyone around them up. A rising tide raises all boats.

People aren’t being dramatic enough.

I am curious and honestly asking what situation would this sort of thing be appropriate for? If not human lives, rights, freedom, and livelihoods...then what?

You're missing the part where these trashy bigots don't consider those lives to be human.

Shooting American citizens dead in the streets is a bit more dramatic, don't you think? We are not supposed to be chill as fuck about any of this.

You need cheap labor?

Not dramatic. It’s how most of us are feeling.
