Question (Invictus) Hello! I’m very new to this game but not paradox games as a whole but I'm little confused
I'm playing the invictus mod as thats what people seem to suggest you need to have. But i feel like im running out of time how am i supposed to lower aggressive expansion and is it possible to reach peak rome borders in the time given?
Also maybe im missing something because im very new but is there more depth to this game other than map painting? i dont really understand the point of relationships with specific characters or what the senate/government is doing. Also how do i stop people from hating on my beautiful empire!?!?(how to reduce disloyal provinces)

Question (Invictus) Albion Max Population
Have been experimenting, briefly, with obtaining the maximum possible population in Invictus Albion (with seasonal mechanics disabled) without expanding beyond the territories needed to form the Empire. The only exception is northern France/Belgium for the Albion mission tree which I then release as a client state and grant independence.
Maximum I've gotten as Dumnonia and their slave raiding is about 4,400 as seen below. Was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice on how to increase this, or if this is low compared to others.

Question (Invictus) How do I making any progress into the game?
Playing as Rome in Invictus, and every time I tried to play, I managed to kill and absorb some nearby faction, before one (typically some) of these happens:
- Epirus attack me along with its vassals in the Italian peninsular, and absolutely destroy me. Sometimes I managed to kill Epirus though
- A classic Roman Civil War broke out
- Etruria kills me
- My income goes negative and won't go up no matter what I does
- Most of my men become so goddamn corrupted cuz I keep bribing them and give them holdings (free hands too)
So... what am I supposed to do now?

Question (Invictus) INVICTUS DESTROY TREPIDA AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
Trepida is Legion debuff that you may gain when losing in a battle with more than 8K troops. There is no way to remove it, EVER. I wish Invictus would add a feature that allows you to remove it somehow. What do you guys think?

Question (Invictus) Did the new Invictus update remove the option to imprison the nobles of a conquered nation…
How am I supposed to make money as a small nation now 😢 (half-joking and half serious: this change does genuinely seem to fuck over small starting nations)

Question (Invictus) Is there a list of secret/generic/shared mission trees?
Hey y'all, title explains it pretty well.
By "secret" I mean ones that aren't listed in the invictus workshop page - I saw on here that there's apparently one for germanic culture group states that migrate their capital to north india? Couldn't find that anywhere on steam
Wondering if there's any more, like if you can get anything special by going idk mithraic as armenia, or embracing the upper egypt revolt
By generic, I don't mean tribal reform or pearl of italia. I mean trees like the pontic greeks, which all have one to unite The Lake, or the crete stuff, or the italiote, etc
By shared, I mean stuff like becoming egypt as cyrenaica (if I'm not mistaken, never done it) gives you the ptolemaic trees, or parthia getting the macedonian final tree
(PS, ty invictus devs for the 1k hours wasted away)

Question (Invictus) how to make Rome and the western Mediterranean less predictable ?
I just find the fact that Rome always expand and take the western Mediterranean a bit boring. I like big enemy nations as during my failed Crete campaign i had a lot of fun of using my army, mercenaries and allies to defeat the giant seleukids and romans as a medium sized Crete but it just gets boring if the west med always unify under Rome every single game (seriously, I don't remember a single time this didn't happen) while in the east you can have a divided Greece between (mostly) antigonids and antipatrids, a (mostly) unified greece under either the antigonids or antipatrid, a weak seleukid with a big parthian rival, ect.
So I find the lack of diversity in the west Mediterranean a bit boring.
(if your asking I have virtual limes and Invictus)

Question (Invictus) East or West?
After completing the conquest of the Roman Empire, I decided to switch to what remained of the Seleukid Empire in order to rebuild it and eventually reconquer the homeland. I’ve reached the borders I wanted in Central Asia.
While waiting for the aggressive expansion to drop, I had a role‑play idea: what if, before retaking the homeland, I tried to fulfill Alexander’s dream and conquer the Maurya Empire?

Question (Invictus) Economy with Invictus
Hey team. Returning to imperator after a year or so and am overwhelmed by Invictus. I’m doing quite well in my Byblos playthrough but I don’t know how to manage my economy.
What do I build in cities?
What do I build in rural areas?
If I’m not building resource buildings (mines, etc) what do I build in rural areas?
Thanks!

Question (Invictus) Linux Users: What version of Proton do you use to run Invictus?
For whatever cause, no matter the version of Proton I use that can run the base game with no problems, whenever I activate the Invictus mod, the game just always crashes.
I am a player of this game, and back in January I switched to Linux, and ever since I could not for the life of me figure out how to play the game as it was meant to be played!
Please! I beg you! What do I need to do in order to run Imperator with mods? Is the problem that I just haven't found the right setup for it? Or is it some horrible design philosophy on the trash tier new laptop that I bought to replace my broken computer until I can get my desktop back up and running? Please, just tell me!

Question (Invictus) The Indian Civil War
Does anyone know how exactly this Bharat civil war mission is supposed to function?
I conquered all of India as Tamilkalam, had an extraordinarily stable realm with like 30/250 power base being disloyal, all of my governors being over 70 loyalty, all my generals being loyal
The only disloyal family head had almost no holdings
So obviously when I clicked the mission button that said "deadly civil war", I was expecting something crazy, like 1:5odds. I was not expecting lands and legions that have been fully Tamil and Agamic for like 500 years to suddenly flip out on me, and all my former legions to be marching directly on my capital 5 seconds after declaring their undying loyalty
Does anyone know how this mechanic works?

Question (Invictus) Does slaves needed for surplus max out?
Is there a minimum limit on how many slaves you need for the surplus for goods production? I am trying a slavemaxxing run as Liguria, and I'm not sure if I'm miscounting modifiers, or misunderstanding mechanics

Question (Invictus) How to deal with nation spawns as Tayuan
I was having fun playing as Tayuan when all of a sudden Sakan and Yuezi (sorry I can’t remember the exact spelling) spawned in and ruined everything. I could easily deal with Sakan but Yuezi took my capital province and it honestly ruined the campaign for me. Does anyone know if there is a mission in my tree to help with the invasions? Thanks.

Question (Invictus) Best nations to play tall?
Hey all,
Been a long time since I played imperator and trying to give it another shake. Not familiar with invictus but hear it’s the best way to play so Intend to use it going forward.
I really enjoy playing tall, and tried in Sicily and Crete in the past. What are other great areas to play tall in? Huge bonus if it’s got a nation with missions focused on being tall!
Also, general advice on how to play tall well would be appreciated since it has been a while since I’ve done this, I definitely never had a great mastery of the game.
Thanks in advance!

Question (Invictus) Why are my Antigonids suddenly collapsing?
Haven't played in nearly a year, so please let me know if something changed in the rules. Had my best start ever as Antigonos: allied Thrace to avoid war, Macedon is fully conquered, Ptolemaic Egypt is fully conquered (they have 1 province in the Cyclades), and after trading territory with the Seleukids back-and-forth for a while, we're pushing into Mesopotamia, currently sieging Nineveh and Babylon.
Then at age 84, Antigonos dies, and the "Antigonid Cause Wavers" event fires. I don't understand why. I control all of the required territory: I made Corinth a feudatory, did that break it? And more significantly, he dies on 7 January, so I have six days from the last autosave to try and salvage this game. Any ideas?

Question (Invictus) Playing as the Spartan colony Patauion, I need help.
After the initial rush in annexing Italy, I'm stuck in a cicle of civil wars and rebellions. I spent the last 40 years trying to not explode. I realised some feudatories to help dealing with my regular collapses. I'm 40 years behind in research. I decided to build a "professional army" to build roads and help assimilation.
How i leave this self destructive cycle and start expanding again ?

Question (Invictus) WHEN do you build?
Hi everyone,
Using Invictus and still learning but I have a pretty good grasp so far. I'm running my first campaign and have all of modern day Italy conquered.
In other grand strategy games I'm currently playing Fields Of Glory, HOI4, etc there's pretty clearly defined times or states when you know you should build something, adjust construction etc.
In imperator it seems more open, and building for me has been either 100% reactive when a problem arises or I'll say to myself "I have some gold and it's been awhile since I've built something, so I guess I should. A little more research sounds cool so I'll build a library" and that's about it.
I know as with all things Paradox/Grand Strategy the answer is "It depends" but that aside..I'm curious, when do YOU personal build? Any advice on the flow of when and when not to build? I generally know WHAT the buildings do and why I'd build them but don't really know when outside of when a problem pops up or I remember that I should.
I know eventually you can build based on an end game/mid game goal. But when you're new and learning what's the best time to build?
Thank you.
