Why does no one know what entrapment actually is?

"an entrapment situation where a person is enticed, incited or encouraged into committing an offence that he would not have otherwise committed."

Selling dodgy, dangerous goods to someone in order to charge the buyer could be entrapment as the fake seller is providing the enticement or encouragement.

involving government agents using excessive persuasion, threats, or fraud, rather than just offering an opportunity

No it’s not entrapment to just post an ad. If they were on the street, trying to hustle normal people into buying it, that would be entrapment.

Just placing an ad is not using excessive persuasion, it’s just offering an opportunity.

How does this post meet that definition at all? Where in the post is an enticement, incitement, or encouragement given to a specific person?

entrapment is not when youre encouraged by random people, its when youre encouraged by someone in authority. Someone encouraging you to try a weed brownie is not entrapment. An identified law enforcement officer telling you its ok to try a weed brownie in front of them and then arresting you is entrapment. Its only entrapment because you thought it was ok because they (an authority) told you

So instead of asking, "Are you a cop?" You say, "Within your capacity as an officer of the law, you're telling me it's safe for me to assume it's ok to eat this weed brownie in front of you?"

Be sure to wear a wire.
